Re: Figure 8 Puffer and Snail Shells

OK I guess that makes sense.
I'll give it a try right after I find a new home for the Mollies that are sharing the tank.

Figure 8 Puffer and Snail Shells

My new Figure 8 Puffers seem to be doing very well in my 65 gallon tank. All four are about 2" head to tail, and still in freshwater. I'm very concerned about their teeth overgrowing, and so have begun a Ramshorn Snail tank which is doing well so far. I've noticed that my F8's will eat a portio...

Converting my F8's to Brackish - Help

I've recently brought home 4 Figure 8 Puffers for my 65gal tank. They are still young, but I'd like to begin the slow change over to Brackish water. Can someone please tell me: #1 How much Instant Ocean should I purchase? How long would a 50gal bag last me? #2 How exactly do I convert to Brackish wa...

Perfect. That's what I thought.
So having 4 in my 65 gal is just perfect :)

Cheers

How many F8 Puffers in 65gal

I have a 65 gallon tank (3 feet wide)
I currently have 4 juvenile Figure 8 Puffers, but I'm thinking of adding 2 more.

Question: Is it ok to have 6 Figure 8 Puffers in my 65gal?
No other fish in the tank.

Re: Which Puffer?

After further reading, it seems that F8 Puffers would work best for me, as I'd like to have 3 or 4 and maybe even a few Gobbies in their as well.

Cheers :)

F8 Puffer Food/Diet

My intention is to purchase 4 F8 Puffers for a 65 Gallon tank. Can someone tell me exactly what food I should be bringing home? Specifically, what type of snails I should get for my young puffer's. I've been told that Malaysian Trumpet Snails are too difficult for young F8's Should I go live or free...

Re: F8 Puffer Teeth

Thanks for the info.

To be honest, I'm scared to do the dental work myself for fear of hurting the puffer :(

Are there any suggested tools or are finger nail cutters appropriate?

Re: F8 Puffer Teeth

Thanks for confirming that.
It makes the decision to go with puffers much easier.

F8 Puffer Teeth

I'm giving strong consideration to F8 Puffers, but have concerns about their dental care.

Question I have is this.
If I feed F8 Puffers properly, live shelled snails etc, should I still expect a need for me to trim their teeth?

Thanks so much

Which Puffer?

Greetings, I'm new to Puffer Fish, but have a background in keeping Mbuna Cichlids. I have a new cylced 65 gal (3 foot) tank ready for some Puffers. I'm having a difficult time figuring out what type of Puffer to go with. Green Spotted? Figure Eight? or other? I'd like to have 3 or 4 of them in my t...
