Re: After a month with dp
They are actually really hardy, just make sure your that your water parameters and condition are pristine. Give them sufficient space and food and they'll live for a very long time.

I just got a GSP
I just got a GSP...well I mean about 3 Weeks ago but it is the newest puffer and I am housing it with my F8s and I just want to ask at what age or size roughly should I shift it to full marine ( a tank on its own)? It is currently living in a low brackish environment temporarily but I know that as i...

Re: My 3 dwarf pea puffers living peacefully in a community
WOW 75 gallons? Or 75 Litres...but that may be why your puffballs are not attacking anything. Do you happen to have any fish that are like way way larger than your puffers...may explain why they are so docile.

Re: DP tankmates
I do have like tons DP after a trip to a nearby fish farm...(they had like a huge tank filled with 200 DPS) and I must say if you do wish to keep DPs with other species make sure 1. you provide them a huge space (to ease territorial disputes) 2. lots of decos or plants ( i have fast growing water sp...

Re: Figure 8 puffer tank set up and care?
I keep mts with mine as they have successfully served two purposes 1. Something for my F8s to nibble on (They are quite smart attacking tiny ones and flipping the big ones and attacking when the snail comes out of its shell) 2. Because i keep my F8s with fine sand the sand tend to turn yellow from l...

Re: Dwarf Puffer behavior - yawning after feeding
Mine occasionally does that after feeding, my F8s do that too. It could be maybe stretching? Or maybe they are way to full?? Or just plain yawning because normally when my F8s do that, I'll catch them retreating into theor caves to sleep.

Re: detritus worms as food?
Try testing if he would eat detritus worms. If he does then they would make good holiday/vacation food for the puffers.

Re: Pea Puffers
So long it is not predatory fish like bichirs, catfish etc your pea puffer will be fine. The thing is once a dp has settled in your tank, it doesn't matter how big or small they WILL start attackig and nipping any fish. Unless if you are keeping otos or kuhli loaches, you will see nipped and ragged ...

Re: 10g dwarf puffer questions
5g for first puffer and then subsequent 3g for the next one is a general guide to adhere to but you could still bend it slightly. Perhaps havily planting the tank might allow you to slip in one or two more. But it really depends on the individual puffers, some are less territorial and might not mind...

Re: DP with swollen belly
Hmmm, could be a fat puffer? Try observing him (looks like a male) and see if he does poop. It terms of roundness your ouffers look fine. Just monitor for any changes in behaviour and whether it is feeding normally.

Re: Bloodworms
And i do believe colour plays a role because when I drop in krills, I noticed that the F8's rush towards the reddest ones. In addition to that, they are extremely fond of those red laser pointers. My biggest F8 goes nuts trying to catch the red laser.

Re: Bloodworms
Yeahhh, and it is so funny looking at them try to tackle the bloodworms that are way to big for their mouths. Even the tiniest and youngest of them thinks that they are able to down huge red ones. DPs in my opinion are way fussier than F8s, like F8's just enjoy almost everything; bloodworms (obv), k...

Bloodworms
I was feeding my puffers today (F8 and DP) and I realised something, fish especially puffers love bloodworms. I was feeding the F8s mysis shrimp and Krill today as opposed to blood worms and I noticed that eventhough they still went for the shrimps, they were not as crazy and enthusiastic compared t...

Help! Need to identify internal parasite
Hi, I need some advice and help. I noticed one of my female puffers having a worm like thingy coming out of her vent. She is not thin and is not lethargic. In fact she is chubby, active and eats well. But I'm just wondering if 1. Whether those are internal worms? 2. If they are should I treat it? 3....
