I'm not sure what I want to put in it yet I'm taking my time getting everything set up so I can afford decent equipment. It will be a FOWLR set up I was interested in teacup rays but 75 gallons is far too small, was thinking maybe a lion but haven't researched them enough yet.

Setting up a 75 gallon salt water I have live sand and will be getting live rock, a couple power heads, as well as a protein skimmer. Is a mechanical filter really needed as well?
