Re: Default deworming?
If wild caught recently I do default deworming (for example any new dwarf puffer I get). If the puffer has been out of the wild and in an aquarium for 3+ months and is fat and does not have stringy poop then I would skip it and just watch for signs of worms.

Re: Tankmates for my DP's
How old are the puffers? If they are young then I would skip getting more fish. When they get older and more established they usually get more aggressive. Mine do fine with larger shrimp (full grown cherries and amano shrimp) and otos. I would say 5 dwarf puffers, 3 otos, and a bunch of larger grown...

Re: DP clean up crew suggestions - Otos not cutting it
I would try to find a few mature amanos or large cherry shrimp. I have both in my DP tank and they do fine. The puffers harrassed them for a while and eventually gave up. If sponge I just throw the new sponge in an existing tank for a few weeks. Also, substrate is a big part and I use the s...

Re: DP diet?
Mine go crazy for black worms, they eat snails throughout the day (trumpet and ramshorn but have not tried pond yet but have them building up in another tank now from some that came in on some plants a couple weeks ago), they eat them but kinda look annoyed when given frozen blood worms, and frozen f...

Best Places to buy dwarf puffers?
So I picked up 6 of them at a local swap meet and it was a mess. Disease and death and only two made it through. Most fish I purchase from reputable sources (normally other hobbyist or stores that I know have had the fish for 20-30 days. But with dwarf puffers I rarely see them local and they normal...
