Re: Will soon be new to dwarf puffers and I have a few quest
We usually drop between 12-15 into the tank in the morning, sprinkling them randomly so the DPs don't find them right away. We remove the demolished snails at dinner time, then feed them half a cube of frozen bloodworms. (The remaining bloodworms are a treat for our Black Knife Ghost Fish) We have n...

Re: Will soon be new to dwarf puffers and I have a few quest
Hi! Welcome to the forum and the puffer community :) I can give you a few answers to your questions based purely on personal experience. We have 3 DPs in a 20 gallon tank. They have been happy together (as far as we can tell) for the last 8 months. Our DPs have favorite foods. Bloodworms are the mos...

Re: Algae HELP!
PufferPunk brings up a critical point - stirring the tank's substrate will help to remove excess nutrients from your tank with each water change. Our puffers' tank is prone to algae too, if we get lax about stirring the sand prior to water changes. Our parameters are always 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates...

Re: Dwarf Puffers Attacked and Injured Other DP
Hi and welcome to the forum! My only suggestions for reducing aggression will make your tank messier than it already is, but it works for us. Many plants, of all shapes and sizes. We have 3 male DPs in a 20 gallon tank and it is a little jungle. They don't fight, but they do display when we feed the...

Re: Anyone seen your DP Puff up?
For the record, we have not seen our 3 DPs puff up. We used to see them 'flatten' and try to look taller when feeding time occurred, but that behavior has largely disappeared now that they are mature. Now they will zip over and feed together with no 'flattening' behavior, I presume they are used to ...

Re: DP tankmates
I have amanos, zebra danios, and a peppermint plec. The plec is not OK in a 20. I have managed to keep a rose goby with them as well but this is just dumb luck. Typically you need a fast fish that does have long fins that is the appropriate size for your tank. Sorry if this is a silly question, but...

Your tank looks wonderful and exciting for puffers to explore and hide in!
Excited to learn how this project goes for you, as we have 3 DPs too

Re: Losing an inch of water in a 55g tank in a week. A Conce
We lose roughly 1 inch of water to evaporation in our 30 and 20 g tanks in our apartment, and we run a humidifier.
Sounds like your water level change is normal
