Re: Fishless Cycling - Advice Needed ASAP!
Please read the fishless cycling article here: It says once you start seeing nitrite, you must cut your ammonia in half. When you start seeing nitrate, you are ready to go. IMO, I think you'll be OK after a 90% WC but you can always add a bottle of Safestart, if you're concerned. http://www.thepuff...

Fishless Cycling - Advice Needed ASAP!
Hello, So my LFS ordered in 3 DPS for me and they have finally arrived! Since it took them a month to get them in, I assumed the tank would be cycled and ready for them when they arrived.. So I have been cycling my tank for 30 days now using pure ammonia. Based on a thorough guide posted on another ...

Re: Divided Tank Help
or take the tank to a glass shop, have them cut a piece to fit, and they can grind the edges & corners smooth for you :) i can cut my own glass if I need to, but i'm lucky to have a local shop that works with me on this kind of stuff Yeah, this was going to be my "worst-case" option i...

Re: Divided Tank Help
if I were doing this, i'd go with the glass divider your plan should work, but you'll need separate filtration on each side, probably just one small heater for the fish side what is causing so much difficulty? Yeah, I've got all the filtration/heating on stand by already. So I tore apart a broken 1...

Divided Tank Help
Hello, So I picked up a 10gal from Petsmart for super cheap and I had a plan in mind to do a divided tank. I'm hoping to divide the tank into a snail breeding side and a hospital tank side for my DPs. My original plan was to cut some glass to size and silicon it in place, making two completely isola...

Re: Feeding DPs Snails
It's gonna be difficult to keep up with that many, as they will only eat them as large as the puffer's eye & that's tiny~ They ight slurp them out of their shell if bigger or you could crush them. But if I could keep up with the demand and they did eat them, how often/how much should I feed them?

Feeding DPs Snails
I was wondering if I could use ramshorn snails as a DPs staple diet (80-90%) and feed bloodworms more occasionally? As snails are their staple diet in the wild, I'm assuming that this would be acceptable from a nutrition point of view..? If so, how many snails should I drop in per day (per puffer)? ...

DP Tank Setup - Advice Needed!
Hello :) I am currently in the process of setting up/cycling (fishless, with ammonia) a 10g tank for some dwarf puffers and I have some questions. 1. I would like more than one DP, however my LFS only sells them as juvies so I wouldn't be able to sex them before purchase. In this case would it be be...

Hello everyone :)
Hello, I am currently in the process of setting up/cycling a 10g tank to hopefully house some new dwarf puffer friends in the near future. :D I have never owned any type of fish before, so I'm a very nervous mother-to-be! But I'm hopeful that careful research, this forum and my science background wi...
