Re: Dwarf puffer help
Im new to puffs myself too (had mine a couple months ish now). Ive found with my trio, when it comes to snails, theyll either slurp half of the snail out of the shell, leaving the rest to rot. Or, Ill crush the snail (a couple times depending on the size of the snail) and drop it in with a dropper r...

Re: 55 gallon - Possible Congo Puffer tank. Have questions.
PP.. do you think a 2 foot long tank is sufficent for a congo since they are very inactive and stay burried for the most part? What about a 30 in long tank?

Re: 10 gallon tank
I geuss my confusion stems from the tank requirments. I understand puffs are dirty, but if they only get 2 or 3 inches and the filter can handle the bio load, then if the tank is 8 times their size in length, I just think that would be suitable. Not being argumentative.. just confused, and it doesnt...

Re: 10 gallon tank
I want something active.. the red eyes arent as active sadly. Dont the red eyes and golden puffers get to the same size if not a little bigger than a fang?

Re: 10 gallon tank
Pufferpunk, Thanks for the advice on no tank mates. Im still so undecided. I really dont want to be a bad puffer owner by any means and I only have the 15 long to use. Ive been researching brackish and it seems so difficult. Letting the water air overnight with the salt will be difficult because tha...

Re: 10 gallon tank
Are there any small butrowing fish that would do well with a F8 to help stir the sand if I setup my 15 gallon as a brackish tank?

Re: 10 gallon tank
Thanks Blinkey! I do love the bb gobies, their little cranky faces! I thought I was going to get a refractometer if I do brackish, but that would have to wait a little while. Thanks for the suggestion on the kitchen scale, Im still doing research and any advice to make brackish seem easier will make...

Re: Why are Figure 8's brackish?
So as Im going through and doing research, trying to decide if I can really establish a brackish tank, I came across this post. And now Im confused. Does adding marine salt affect the ph and kh of the water? My tap ph is at 8.4 and I dont remember the exact kh measurment but it was high when my LFS ...

Re: Hi Forum ppl :) Toronto Puffers here ^_^
Alll 3 of my dwarf puffers are getting along much better!! Only aggression I see if during or right after feeding them. Mine eat frozen bloodworms, crushed snail or garlic soaked frozen brine. I have a little syringe thing I get the bloodworms in and then squeeze 1 worm out at a time for each puff t...

Re: 10 gallon tank
Okay, so say I go brackish (undecided - still waiting on landlord approval as well for another tank.. didnt think she would have a concern but said she wants to think about it) Anyway, so say I set up this 15 gallon long and make it brackish, how do I know how much salt to put in to get it to the co...

Re: 10 gallon tank
TheStig, yes I agree about pet keeping. I used to have a cockatiel in a cage meant for a cockatoo. I get it. I am just wondering about boundaries here. I could understand if I was asking to keep a huge fish in a small tank, but I was wondering about a small fish in a tank that they could freely move...
