Re: Tankmates for my DP's
I have tried to tell that to many people on this form that swear by it that they will turn wicked. Good luck trying to change there mind. They are die hard gloom and doom on any fish put in with a pea puffer. I roll my eyes at the narrow minds and check my tank daily to make sure there eyes are not ...

Re: Pea Puffers
His fish are already being attacked by the puffers. He said the fins were a little ragged that doesn't prove the pea puffer did it. There can be other reasons for ragged fin. He never states he saw the fish attacking you are assuming that. I still have 3 very peaceful puffers in my community tank w...

Re: Pea Puffers
So, today i went on a road trip out of town to check out some aquarium stores. I have always been very interested in dwarf (pea) puffers. I saw some at the store, and picked them up, (sort of a spur of the moment thing) Anyways, At the moment i have a moderately planted 20 gallon long tank, with ab...

Re: Dwarf Puffers Attacked and Injured Other DP
Thanks all, for suggestions. I added a ton bunch more plants to my tank, but since it's a taller tank there is still a bit of open space, and I was still having fights between the two males. So in the end, I donated the more aggressive and larger male to my LFS. Unfortunately, they didn't have any ...

Re: My 3 dwarf pea puffers living peacefully in a community
Just an update that all is well and good two of my pea puffers have coupled up the other has made friends with a guppy. Yes a guppy and they swim together all the time and take turns chasing each others. So once again it may not be for everyone's dwarf puffers but mine are still doing well in a com...

I have 5 silver dollars and and mostly tetras in the tankBoku88 wrote:WOW 75 gallons? Or 75 Litres...but that may be why your puffballs are not attacking anything. Do you happen to have any fish that are like way way larger than your puffers...may explain why they are so docile.

Re: My 3 dwarf pea puffers living peacefully in a community
I'm sorry I have to agree. Lots of people add DPs to community tanks and say "see I told you they are fine" but 3-6 months later its a different story. Missing eyes, tattered fins - yeah they may not kill your other fish outright but they will pick away a little at a time until stress kil...

Re: After a month with dp
So it's been about a month I have had these dwarf puffers. And I would like to say, I don't think I could ever get rid of them. They are great fish. I love how they have over time got to know what I look like, and always come watch me as I do things around the fish tanks. They seem to be pretty har...

Re: DP tankmates
Hey everyone! I have a 20 gallon with 3 dwarf puffers (1 male, 2 female) and 4 danios that I used to help cycle the tank. My danios are starting to get old and I'm looking for new species to add once they start dying. I've heard people say cories and otos both make suitable tankmates, but I wanted ...

Re: My 3 dwarf pea puffers living peacefully in a community
Give them time, I have only had 2 dps that didn't bother anything. Once they hit maturity they are the most dangerous puffers out there Who told you that? A hungry puffer is the most dangerous. Most dwarf puffers are pretty easy going and there are many articles on there ability to remain in a comm...
