Re: Orange Saddleback Fucca/Puffer
Not to start a war or be the negative nancy here, but I think you have zero clue on keeping fish period, yet alone getting into marine/brackish or various species of pufferfish. Each species requires different care, and most are not community fish, they are species only. You've been asked what your ...

Re: Acclimating plants to BW tank
I agree with PP... There's a lot of stuff to choose from with FW and SW.... but not so much in-between. I have one GSP in full marine; they do well in it. I would go that route in all honesty. I stayed backing like... one week lol.

Re: Help my GSP is dying
Agree with PP. Your Nitrates are way too high, and you have overstocked your tank. It seems like your 50% weekly WC aren't enough. I'd isolate the little guy and start thinking about a solution for your bioload.

Re: Diatom Algae in F8 Tank
I had the same problem when I started out. I got a UV sterilizer, Seachem's Phosguard, and upped my water changes. I also wiped off all of my rocks and cleaned the glass with a mag float. Luckily I caught it before it hit the sand substrate. I also have a small 10g nano and have some coral in that, ...

Re: valentini puffer
I was going to get a Valentini, and I am in the same boat as you as far as worrying about CUC and corals. From the info I found, most will destroy your CUC and are not reef safe. I decided not to get one based on that information.

I suggest calling all of your local fish stores in your area, and areas you are willing to drive to.

Re: Stocking density advice
I personally don't have an Oto, but a friend of mine has two and she also stated that the first month is critical for otos. I guess there is a high possibility they don't eat when you get them. I wouldn't let that scare you away from getting them though. Gotta take a risk sometimes. My recent fish w...

Pittsburgh, PA - Oddball Pets & Aquariums
So I'm in town visiting my parents from AZ, and visited a few LFS around town. The one that caught my eye was Oddball Pets & Aquariums. It's kind of a "hole-in-the-wall" place, but I found that it has the best selection, best looking stock, and best prices out of the few I ventured to....

In the small research I did, they are comparable to porky puffs because they are both listed as semi-aggressive.

Re: Eheim jager heater calibration
I use a Jager on my main tank and only calibrated it one time, and has been spot on ever since. I also have a Penn Plax cascade heater in my other tank and it works well (accurate +/- 1 degree). I agree with the other poster in saying that the seller you purchased from maybe got a bad batch of them....

Re: Show me your snail tanks! & Snail tank talk!
Well, had a situation where my AC went out for two weeks (got to mid 90s in the house), and all but one snail in my snail breeding setup bit the bullet due to the heat. Called various fish stores/Petsmart/etc. but no freebies now for some odd reason. May have to just buy some ramshorn snails on ebay...

May be a case of IP. You should get Prazipro and dose him if possible. It may be too late. You can always dose the other puff to error on the side of caution.

Yep, well aware. Thanks for rubbing that in lol... I have been to almost every car show Embry Riddle has put on, so I go out there yearly, if not more.
