Re: Help with Mbu

Hi

I am pleased to say that I have had Ziggy just over a month now and have not seen anymore white lumps and the ones he had have disappeared, so I think it was just due to the move. He seems happy in his new home and likes his food!! :D

Re: Help with Mbu

Thanks for the information. Ziggy has a diet of cockle, mussel, prawn, bloodworm, lance fish, Krill , peas (on reading Manutius's post) and an occassional earthworm so I think this was just down to the move as water is spot on and I do large regular water changes. They have all cleared up now but th...

Hi I had 3 SAPs in a community tank. I never saw them school but also had no problems with tank mates. I lost one which jumped into the filter while we were away (it now has a cover) but have 2 left and have had them about a year now. Like you have said they often meet up to check each other is OK a...

I am happy with Ziggy (my Mbu) in the 6ft at the moment and have been offered the 8x3x3 so I thought it would be good for the future or if he doesn't get on with his tank mates.

I am based in Lincolnshire.

Thanks for that manutius. I wondered if it was stress from the move as the lfs said they had had them for 6 months since they were small and had lots of them, so obviously it has been a change for him. I checked the parameters of their water and they were very similar to mine pH only .1 different an...

Help with Mbu

Hi I have a mbu about 5" and he is currently in a tank 72"x26"x30" that will be upgraded to a 8x3x3 when he is bigger. My question is he seems to have cloudy white lumps appearing on his back. At first I thought white spot but it is not the normal white spot and he has nothing on...

Give it a go. Follow the guide and you'll be fine. I have 2 SAP and trim their teeth when they need it. Mine aren't big on snails but eat almost anything else. The first time I trimmed their teeth it was nerve wracking but once you've done it once you'll be fine about doing it again.

Thanks for the replies. The tank was leveled and sitting on a wooden base that came with the tank but it was second hand. It was well made with stress bars and 12mm glass. It has made a mess and put my hubby off fish tanks for life! I still have a dream of keeping a mbu but it now might take several...

Sad news I am afraid. I had got the tank setup on Wednesday and started a fishless cycle when yesterday the tank sprang a leak and then exploded across the room. 900l of water and glass everywhere and it moved a broken front and half a side 3ft across the room. Luckily I had just left the room to ge...

Hi I am no expert but I have 2 SAPs in with a couple of pitbull plecs and they are fine. These guys are all a similar size where as your plecs are bigger. See what the other more experienced people say but I certainly haven't had any trouble with mine and they have been together for about 6 months. ...

Hi Just to let you know I got the tank home safely but plans changing as to its location. Now going in the living room and set into a wall so we need to do some small building work which will hopefully be done next week. I am going to keep him with a perruno catfish of roughly the same size so hopef...
