4 GSP free to a good home - vegas area
I have 4 GSP that I am willing to give to a good home only. I am trying my best to take care of them now but my life is a bit hectic and I don't know what I will do with them when my lease expires in a couple months. They are in a 55 gallon tank now. In the meantime I am trying my best to care for t...

I'm trying to find plants/sand to add to the tank sand - the guy who gave me the tank said he uses playsand from homedepot. they sell 50 pound bags for $4. are those safe? plants Chaetomorpha macroalgae - where did you get this, do you have to order it online? what do you think is the best plant cho...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
Some good news - the sick puffer is getting a little better, and I hope he stays that way. I put the whole pet carrier inside of the 55g tank so he was isolated but had access to the water. I took it out to feed him. He tried to eat a piece of bloodworm, and nibbled at a snail but didn't eat the sna...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
Puffers need a complex, heavily decorated tank, with lots of broken lines of sight. Here's mine, a 55g that my 2 GSPs outgrew: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/Pufferpunk/Pufferpics/55gGSPTank.jpg That's a great tank, if that is the gsp on the right side (blurry in the pic) he looks big! I kn...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
Not now no, what's there now is just what came with it.
I'm looking into some brackish / salt plants or maybe getting some more rocks.
I have a decor from the other tank that I was thinking of moving over.

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
the 3 puffers that were acclimating (the salinity was about the same actually from the 10g but the 10g was 1.006 but made with freshwater aquarium salt) when the acclimating first started they started swimming around a lot but calmed down after a few minutes they went crazy for bloodworms (soaked in...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
Can you tell from a fish's poop if they have parasites? This is from the 3 that are eating but there is a black spot near the eyes on one or two of them and some black spots near their stomach (the one that isn't eating wasn't making poop when I had him in the container overnight and he's in another...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
I decided to go with the 55 g tank, it came out to $160, he was really nice and helped me set up everything. The salinity is 1.005 He included the dresser free (kind of ugly but its functional and I can store stuff in the drawers), a bag of salt (good for 50 g), and helped me to move everything from...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
Another option is: 55 g has a lionfish about 3'' - but I told him he can keep it so I won't be taking the fish no sand a basic tank there's no stand but I think he was willing to give me the dresser that it's on now at no extra cost (unless i misunderstood him) and including an extra bag of salt aqu...

Re: tail curled green spotted not eating :(
Right now they are about a cm. I found someone on craigslist selling a 20g saltwater tank it has some extra salt for about 70 gallons of water (maybe worth $15 or so), live sand, salt water testers (not sure what that means exactly, hydrometer maybe), which im not sure what to do, filter, 15 pounds ...
