Re: Too much filtration?

I would but the microbubbles are currently insane without it, I've tried all the other usual things advised with my skimmer and nothing works which I'm lead to believe my water needs to mature as apparently freshly mixed salt water hold bubbles a lot longer

Re: Too much filtration?

I'm really pleased with it. I got 15kg live and 5kg dry. Need to get a powerhead because the flows been cut in half now there's only one cannister (the skimmers trickling through floss so doesn't add any current at all) and I'd like to upgrade the t8 lighting to T5 or led then I'll be satisfied :) I...

Re: Too much filtration?

No odur, it came from a guy I've bought things from before, he sells all sorts out of his home. He has a tank full of live rock only that he sells off, all mature. I went to him because my lfs only sells uncured. He sells fish, corals, rock, everything really. There's not many good fish stores in my...

Re: Too much filtration?

No, just two gsp's. I read lots of opinions on salinity, all very conflicting but the one consistent was 1.026 is generally what sea water is naturally and also that the skimmer will work better at a higher salinity

Re: Too much filtration?

Yes I understand that, and it's coming very soon (I've been raising salinity slowly and now at 0.026), getting rid of one of the cannister filters is partly to help fund that. Biohome is an incredible media with a huge surface area it is keeping the tank in check currently, amonia is zero and nitrat...

Re: Too much filtration?

None yet, that's the next step. What I do have is 3kg of biomax ultimate in the 406 which is a very good porus media

Too much filtration?

Hey guys, I've got two gsp's in a 270 litre tank, I've got two cannister filters on the tank, a fluval 405 and a 406. I've just got the tank to full marine lately so also chucked a deltec mcd406 hob skimmer on it. Question is now I've got the skimmer do you think I can safely do away with one of the...

Do gsp’s like strong flow?

I’m just wondering if gsp’s like a strong flow? I’ve got two in a 280litre at 1.010sg running on two fluval 406 canister filters. I’ve got quite a lot of flow in the tank, with both outlets crossing over through the middle one pointing up and one down, bringing up most of the poo nicely up into the ...

Are these two gsp both the exact same species?

I understand the the term gsp is use to describe a few very slightly different species of puffer that are very hard to distinguish by eye. I’ve picked these two up from two different sources and I’m just wondering if they’re maybe two different species? Their patterns differ slightly but not only th...
