Re: Rescue Mbu- in bad way
Hello, thanks for all the help and advice- unfortunately it was all in vain. Why are there so many Mbus on sale in shops up and down the country? I reckon 1 in 200 probably have an ok life- the rest are consigned to an early death.

TETRAODON DUBOISI and TETRAODON SCHOUTEDENI
Hello everyone, I have kept quite a few puffer species over the years including a recent brief and disastrous ownership of a sick Mbu :( However, I have again been bitten by the puffer bug and started looking for a species I haven't kept before and came across the two mentioned in the title. Apparen...

Re: Rescue Mbu- in bad way
Hi guys, sorry for the late reply.
He has gone downhill rapidly over the past 2 days, barely moving, clamped fins etc.
Hopefully going to see an improvement to him over the next 48 hours.

Re: Rescue Mbu- in bad way
Him, that was a fast reply! The tank is very mature as it used to house my Fly River Turtle who is now in a bigger tank and have left the external on it. I was thinking of tranquilizer but the very thought of it is terrifying to me! Any suggestions on what to use and the dose? As he is so underweigh...

Re: Rescue Mbu- in bad way
I am told that he does eat prawns etc but nothing with a hard shell on- I will try him on soft and shelled foods tonight. If he is eating as much as I am told he was he shouldn't be as thin as he is so I would be tempted to try anti internal parasite medication. I will look at melafix but the split ...

Rescue Mbu- in bad way
Hello guys, new to the forum as I have just picked up a Mbu this evening. I understand the problems with keeping Mbus which is exactly why I have never had one despite loving them to bits. I have kept red eyes, figure 8's, Fahakas, and an Abei but stayed away from the Mbu because of their size. Anyw...
