Re: 29 gallon suggestions
Picked him up yesterday. He was looking good and and eating well up until a few minutes ago. He is laying on the bottom and breathing a little faster than Normal. I put an airstone in, just in case and tested the water. Nitrates are between 10 and 20, going to do a water change. But ammonia and nitr...

Re: 29 gallon suggestions
I will probably change out the substrate slowly, so it doesn't have a mini cycle. Switch it out to what though? Gravel, sand? I honestly don't have any idea what the natural habitat is and I can't find any info online that I have seen. I would prefer to make it as natural as possible. Driftwood, roc...

Re: 29 gallon suggestions
I will probably get the abei tomorrow. I had the store owner send me pictures, it's pretty awesome. It is fully grown though, that's my only concern. Also, are abei fairly active? Do they burrow? The substrate is crushed coral right now.

29 gallon suggestions
I have a cycled 29 gallon freshwater tank that I am looking to put a puffer into and need suggestions on species that would work in this size tank. I want to stay with freshwater and not brackish, I have way too many saltwater aquariums for the time being and don't want to have to take care of anoth...

Re: porky or dogface for my new 210
As far as aggressiveness towards tankmates goes, are they comparable to porkies? Or more laid back?

Re: porky or dogface for my new 210
For whatever reason my phone is not letting Me do it. I did get a positive id on reef central though and I knew what they were when I caught it. After looking at them up close I am 100% sure. The question is should I keep them or not? What are the experiences that people have had with striped burrfi...

Re: porky or dogface for my new 210
So plans might be changing. I was down by the water tonight and what appears to Be baby striped burr fish came over to the Dock. I caught them in a bucket and brought them home. I will post a picture once I get them acclimated. I am using Fresh made saltwater in a qt tank, so if I decide that I don'...

Re: porky or dogface for my new 210
I am leani g towards the dogface I think. But I have always loved porkies so I really don't know. A lfs about an hr away gets in large shipments of puffers every 2 weeks so I will probably just go up there and see what strikes my fancy but I haven't done much research into either because I know that...

Re: porky or dogface for my new 210
Which one is less aggressive in general? I know that each individual varies. I want to keep a lot of smaller fish in the tank as well so preferably a puffer that is less likely to eat them. Firefish, anthias, blennies, gobies, basslet.

porky or dogface for my new 210
ok so I want some input on behavior on porcupine puffers and dogface puffers. my main display tank broke completely and drained down to 4 inches on Saturday. it was horrible to put it mildly. I am home by myself, its midnight, and the back left corner of silicone broke down the center all the way to...

Re: New F8 Tank, need some advice
I think some black mollies would be pretty in there, and they would help with the algae to an extent. I would also look into a knight goby, although he might eventually eat the bumblebee gobies depending on his size. BUT if you had 4 mollies( 1 male 3 females), then the knight goby would just eat al...
