Porc behavior
Hello. I've kept a porcupine puffer for a long time. It's healthy, happy etc. Then I've bought a bigger tank, and decided to add another porc. Done. The small one was introduced to new tank first, then the old one. They accepted each other, swim together, beg for food, the smaller one slept on the bi...

Re: Identify puffer
HI again. My puffers seems to live healthy and happily. A few days ago I found another one which pattern seems very similar to my puffer. I've bought him. The pictures were taken a few minutes later after getting him to my tank. Probably not so healthy as others but I'm looking forward to it. http:/...

Re: GSP refuse to eat and more
Possible fore sure. I don't have sw tests still to measure parameters. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate should be possible removed with water changes, but how long it will take...Pufferpunk wrote:Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH?
Is it possible the pH of this different brand of salt is different than the other?

Hello. It's the first time I have problem with them. Both puffers refuse to eat, often stays in filter stream, itches on the walls and become way less rounded than before. Re: Does anyone else have a smiley face on the back of an ad
puff2.JPG My 3 + year old figure 8 puffer is sporting a big smiley face on his back. Despite his bright outlook, this near 4" F8 just ate the eyeballs out of his 3 year tankmate pleco. My what a polarized fish I have! Dan P Cleveland, OH USA puff1.JPG It's awesome! I would like if my F8 had th...

Re: Fitness for puffers
Possible. But right now the GSP's twice larger tnan a F8. When I've bought him, Satou-kun was 3 times larger than f8. But still not even one try to kill. Maybe I'm just lucky.Pufferpunk wrote:Eventually, the much larger GSP will kill the F8.

Re: Fitness for puffers
You want to feed snail the size of thier eye. Best option is to setup a snail breeding tank and get pond and ramshorn snails. I usually give a ramshorn snail to them. Their teeth seems to be trimmed properly. Mylania snail is too hard for them still. I know but I saw a lot of examples of f8 in mari...

Re: Fitness for puffers
The middle one is a figure 8 and needs brackish water, not salt water... Maybe just feed them every other day? That's what I do for all my puffs. How many gallons/liters is the tank? I've never hear of it before... I know but I saw a lot of examples of f8 in marine water. Well, Juwel Lido 200 is 20...

Fitness for puffers
Hi again. As you mentioned before, my puffers seems to be too fat. I've recently bought a new tank for them, this is Juwel Lido 200 because only it could fit my flat. I'm very slowly moving them to marine conditions. Now the salinity is 10ppm. All of puffers seems to be very happy active etc. And ev...

Re: Veggie puffer
The tank size is 300l, I can't give them a larger one because I have no space in room for larger tank, but I'm ready to up salinity even to the marine if they need it, the current tank setup is ready for it and require almost no changes at all. But at the current state they seems to be ok in fw with...

Re: Identify puffer
If it were possible for a hybrid I guess you could say that. http://i.imgur.com/w50Lf1d.jpg But looks to me the GSP side won out on the genetic battle. lol Lol. Just to make things clear, the puffers is rare for sale here but I've seen 100% Nigroviridis like my first puffer a few times and only onc...

I'm thinking the one facing down could be a ceylon, not gsp...BUT, I need a better pic. Sorry, this is the best pics I could get from my viewpoint. I will try to make another when it'll be swimming around and facing down. http://i.imgur.com/obYNMte.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6OM6uMi.jpg http://i.imgur....
