Re: Please help sex some DPs?

I thought I'd read that they were mature after about 5 months? I've had her since early February. I'm terrible at spotting the wrinkles, so I've been going by any other characteristics I can find. Thanks so much!

Please help sex some DPs?

Would someone be willing to confirm or correct my belief that the fish in the plastic bottle in female and the curled up tail one is male? One of my other DP's is picking on one of them and I need to move her. I already read the Pufferpedia page but am unsure.. http://i.imgur.com/YaZIerX.jpg http://...

Re: Dwarf Puffer Cleanup Crew

My DPs ate all the cherry shrimp I put in there, and I went with adults, so I think it depends on how ferocious your DP is. (They also ate them piece by piece) No one touched the ghost shrimp though.

Re: Tips/tricks on treating IPs?

And another problem, he ate brine shrimp tonight, I walked away, and when I came out he was regurgitating all the shrimp. I didn't count how many he ate, and now he doesn't seem interested in food now.

Re: Tips/tricks on treating IPs?

Oh, he doesn't like eating worms and eats way more snails than I can keep stocked. Are mysis shrimp okay if he will eat those?

Better late than never..

Hi, my name is antelope and I don't do well at picking usernames, haha. I have 4 dwarf puffers right now (since February), although one day I'd like to have a porcupine puffer, but that's a long way away. Three of my puffs live in a heavily planted 20 gallon long (1 male, 2 females) with whatever li...

Re: Tips/tricks on treating IPs?

I think I found some part or parts of the problem, and it may not all be parasite related. I first got him to eat dead food with krill and after he ate the worms a few times, I assumed he would be fine eating those. I don't think he has been eating them for a couple days now. He still seems very hun...

Tips/tricks on treating IPs?

So I've finally gotten my all of my puffers to eat dead food, yay! They also seem much more content in the new living arrangements. My newest problem is that the one that took the longest to get on bloodworms seems to have IP's. I read the puffpedia entry on dosing them, and I'm doing all that corre...

Re: Worried about DPs not getting along..

Oh I definitely learned my work habits with my first betta tanks, it turns out I don't enjoy emptying small containers of water constantly. I got an 8 gallon cube for the little fella and after rinsing the flourite enough, he'll have his own little place. Thanks for your help, there's a lot of contr...

Re: Worried about DPs not getting along..

Thanks! Ok, what size tank should I get just him, then? I've always read 5 gallons minimum and was looking at an 8 gallon cube for him.

Worried about DPs not getting along..

I've had 4 Dwarf puffers for about 4 months now, they are in a heavily planted 20 gallon long with no CO2. I've got an Aquaclear 50 running and everything is fully cycled, just to get that out of the way. So, when I went to the lfs in February to get them, I'm pretty sure I got 2 males and 2 females...
