Excellent, thanks! I picked up some aragonite and will add a small amount to the substrate and put a bag into the filter as well. Good news! They're eating. Mind you they'll only eat the deluxe seafood blend from the fish market. :) The injury may be a bit less pink, but there is definitely a detach...

Okay, today is Friday and they haven't eaten since Monday when I medicated the tank. It's strange. When I put food into the tank the puffer with the injury won't eat and then he guards the other puffer and won't let him eat either. He's not aggresive, he just guides the other puffer away from the fo...

Seems to be worse and not eating.
I moved my puffer back to the large tank with his tank mates. He is much happier here and is now swimming around again and has a white belly. The thing on his fin seems to be tearing even more and I'm not sure what to do. I feel so badly for him. I have since discovered that something else was going...

Okay, this is not working. I think he is very unhappy to in the small tank and away from all the other fish. He is swimming up and down the sides for 15 hours now and the growth is getting worse, because he is bumping it on things. The more I look at it, I think it may be an injury, but it was just ...

OMG isn't the tank already cycled if I used only the same water and substrate from the established tank? I also took some sponge material and put it where the carbon usually sits. Please let me know, as I'll move him back ASAP. Sorry, I'll post into the same thread next time....not sure how to move ...

The SG is the same as the big tank....I used the water from the big tank to fill up the small one. It's at 1.010 in both. The big tank is 65 Gallons and the hospital tank is 10 Gallons. All water tests come back fine except the Ph was a bit low. I increased it in both tanks just slightly to about 8.0.

GSP twitching and gulping on Melafix and Pimafix - Help
Okay....I moved my GSP with the pink growth on his fin into a hospital tank and medicated him with the correct amounts of both Melafix and Pimafix. He's twitching every minute or so, as if to shake something off his skin and every once in while he makes these big gulping motions. I'm wondering if th...

Oops, sorry Phaedrus....your reply same as I was writing my last message. Yup, I'll keep him in the small tank for a week and see how it goes. I do see some nitrates, however , it is always very low. I will tes myself today and then bring in a water sample tomorrow...see what's going on. Are puffers...

Sorry, one more question about using melafix and pimafix. I'm thinking that I should buy and set-up a hospital tank today for the medication period. It seems to make more sense than to medicate all of my fish, remove the charcoal and risking having to establish the tank again [no bio-spira in my are...
