There is an extra fish in my GSP's tank?
A few months ago I got my first puffer. His name is Einstein. He was my only fish, or so I thought. A few weeks after I got him there was a little fish in the tank with him. I think it was like a baby tetra or something which was really weird. I never bought it. It's was transparent and it's back wa...

Is this something I should worry about?
Hello! I have one puffer. He's my only fish and I love him. I always check him out during feeding and I noticed something different about him today. He is a nice green color with dark spots. Today, there was a little bit of a odd green color on some parts of his back. It is between the spots and is ...

The Puffer Who Doesn't Like My Jacket...
Hello!(Not sure what forum to put this on....) I've heard that puffer fish have many personalities. I had not known, however, that they could have grudges against colors. My pufferfish, Einstein, hates my jacket. If I come close to his tank with it on he will turn black and try to "escape"...

Re: Figure 8 and Green Spotted Puffer... Urgent!
30 Gallons. It's not a lot, but there is a lot of decorations for minimal contact. I put him in. It's a miracle! I watched them for a little. The figure 8 was going up and down the walls on the opposite side of the tank. I had to make late-dinner and when I returned they were hunting one of the ghos...

Figure 8 and Green Spotted Puffer... Urgent!
Well, a few weeks back I had bought my GSP(Einstein). The tank had a few cycling issues and I got chewed out for not cycling my aquarium. I kept the water at brackish and added both bio-spira and aquasafe(the freshwater bacteria, forgot the name) . It seemed to do the job and nitrite, nitrate, and a...

Re: I'm in a bit of a situation.
We used live sand on the bottom and crushed coral on top of the live sand. I think that may be why the bubbles are there.(protein?). I only use live plants in my aquariums... I think java fern and narrow java? Weekly diet consists of brine shrimp(raised to adulthood and alive), little pest snails fr...

Re: I'm in a bit of a situation.
Here's a picture of the tank. Is there anything I should get?
(I know about that two-filter brackish water setup, but we just can't do that.)

Re: I'm in a bit of a situation.
There is only one puffer in there now. He's happy and his skin looks a lot brighter. Our 2 inch puffer has been sent to my sister's home a few miles away. He seems happy as well. Thank you!

Re: I'm in a bit of a situation.
Okay, I did what you asked.
I cleaned the tank out completely and added tap, prime, safestart, and puffer. now the tank is freshwater and mostly cycled. In about an hour I'll check the ammonia, pH, nitrate, and nitrite.
He seems a little uneasy about the change but maybe it's just me.

Re: I'm in a bit of a situation.
I did the ammonia test again and it's at 0
I have another problem with the 2 inch puffer. I checked on him at night and he was pitch black. I turned on the lights and walked away for a minute and he had turned to his normal white color. Is he stressed about the night time? I'm not sure.
