Re: Hairy Puffer Fish Care
Hunger, hard to tell, Pig will eat anything that moves and I suspect would gorge himself, but fat puffers have shorter lifespans. Plus they're lurkers, so in the wild only feed if the opportunity arises. I don't know about a diet solely consisting of worms and the state of their teeth, but they need...

Re: Tetraodon Baileyi
Pig's teeth are fine, he only eats worms, shell on prawns, and little crabs, won't touch molluscs.

Re: Hairy Puffer Fish Care
I have a Hairy, he's kept in a 55 US gallon tank with double filtration (HOB and external canister filters). Decoration wise, he's more into places to hide and lurk - so he loves his Pig Cave, and plants, but he is also v find of his terracotta flowerpot and the corner where the filter outlet is. Fe...

Thank you pokeystar, that's really helpful.
Yes, he's lovely, very interactive and intelligent, I love that he goes pink when he's happy (ie when he's just stuffed his face). Ridiculously easy to look after, bless him.

Have to rehome Piggy, what would be a reasonable price?
First hi all, sorry for my absence but I've been v v ill. Upshot is, I have to get rid of my darling Piggy. Daughter has been feeding and caring for him for me, but she will be leaving home, and moving away soon. Obviously he needs a good home, but I have no idea what would be a reasonable price for...

Re: Friendly Puffer for 40B
I feed tiger prawns (only raw in shell ones I can find where I live), squid, earthworms, and snails - small garden ones that I've cleansed for a week on spinach and other veg. Piggy hates mussels and clams, won't touch them, but he will eat ordinary snails. He loves prawns and earthworms best, just ...

Re: hairy puffer with tankmates... maybe?
I wouldn't even think about it. I got Pig some crabs for supper/company, came down the next morning to find a massive puffer and absolute carnage in the tank. Once he'd realised the crabs were in there, he'd systematically hunted down every crab, bar one, and massacred them.

Pig does that, I think he's practising for when he becomes a big ferocious puffer
He looks ridiculous, like a mouldy water balloon.
