Re: GSP Finally Home:)
Yes, although I seemed to be pretty misinformed, there are a lot of people in a much worse situations. I actually did purchase mine from Walmart. I didn't want to support them by buying him from there however I figured I should rescue one. When I went, there was only one of about six that looked onl...

Re: GSP Finally Home:)
Thank you all for your help. I will have a lot of thinking to do but I will be in a place where I can get a larger tank this summer.

Re: GSP Finally Home:)
I appreciate your help. I am stuck with a 20 gallon though for the time being. Could you please explain to me why high brackish water would cost more money than marine? It is just frustrating for me because I have spent a lot of time trying to research this stuff but everybody has a different opinio...

Re: GSP Finally Home:)
Well unfortunately this was not told to me before I got my fish. The article, "An Introduction to Green Spotted Puffers" from this site, states that I can start one off in one as small as 10 gallons. Many other articles I have read say that even a 20 gallon is efficient for a full grown pu...

Re: GSP Finally Home:)
I totally agree, I wish I could have started with a larger tank but I am in a dorm room that doesn't allow anything above 20:/

Re: GSP Finally Home:)
Oh my gosh, just one year? I didn't realize it would go by that quickly
I will be upgrading his tank when he gets bigger because he's just in a 20 gallon right now. Looking forward to watching him grow:)

Re: GSP Finally Home:)
I know it's not too original, but his name is Puffy. I am a little concerned about the lumps though when I know he hasn't ate in awhile. I think I might treat for internal parasites, just in case. And thanks for the tip about the krill! I have freeze dried krill, bloodworms, plankton, and mysis shri...

GSP Finally Home:)
Hi! After weeks of planning and cycling my tank, my green spotted puffer fish, puffy is finally here. I have came up with a few questions that I can't seem to find answers to though. I am wondering if it is normal for his belly to be lumpy. It is almost all the time like that and is especially notic...

Re: New Puffer Owner
Thank you all for your quick responses! I was able to look at the article on feeding and there are definitely a lot of options. I think I am going to look into having my own small breeding tank for snails. I am happy to hear that there is no smell at all also. I am a little confused with filters tho...

New Puffer Owner
Hello! I am considering buying a green spotted puffer fish. I have done a little bit of research about them and found that they aren't easy fish to care for but hopefully I am up for the challenge. I am also a first time aquarium owner but I am learning about tank cycling and nutrient levels. My fir...
