Aragonite questions
I've been searching for hours on Google and other forums but nothing, so here it goes: Does aragonite sand goes bad? What I mean is do you have to replace it because it stops buffering your ph? Thanks. For the members that have it in their tanks: Do you have to rinse it first? When doing water chang...

Re: F8 and Dwarf Puffer
^ About the above post. It goes to show how puffers have different personalities. I had my Figure 8 in a 55g tank all by himself and decided to add 3 Dwarf Puffers to his tank thinking is large enough and he won't mind them. Well, the Dwarf Puffers all disappeared in a few days. So, for the new guys...

Pufferpunk, I didn't see the sentence below the fish, hahaha. So I was saying thank you to your "welcome".
About the brackish water, I go back and forth between brackish and fresh. I do this because of the Zebra Loaches.

Re-introduction
Hi guys, is Ricky. Got my figure 8 on Dec 2013 and I was here for a short while. Panchito is doing very well, big and fat. He has had 7 Zebra Loach as tank mates for 2 years now and he don't mind them and the Loach don't mess with him either. All is well in the 55g home. Anyways, is good to be back ...

Re: 55gal tank= 40gal
Got it! I think I like this option, I can put an algae scrubber and my heater in the sump so the back of the tank will look clean.
Thank you all.

Re: 55gal tank= 40gal
does the sump also acts like a filter? I'm asking because I want to get a 180gal acrylic tank, if I get a sump, do I still need a HOB filter/filters?
Is going to be for a Fahaka.

55gal tank= 40gal
Oh man I'm surprise to know my 55gal tank actually only holds about 40gal of water, with the gravel and décor included. For the experts, is this figure right? Here's the link: http://www.firsttankguide.net/calculator.php My tank came out to 46 gallons and I figure minus another 6 gallons for ornamen...

I also go this route, I've failed miserably at keeping real plants in FW tanks, let alone BW.

I can never catch my puffer sleeping, he must have night vision because he sees me in the dark and comes up to greet me.
