Re: Valentini help please!
Oh goodness, I’m so sorry you lost him. The community here really is wonderful. I appreciate you letting me know what happened! Your experience will help someone else down the line I’m sure. I’m glad the rest of your tank is doing well. Maybe another puff some day- the orange spotted tobies have sim...

Re: White cavity on GSPs head??
Poor fishy. I hope the myxazin helps! I’ve noticed if I really don’t beat the stuffing out of the second nitrate bottle before testing- like really smacking it off the counter to make sure the solution is mixed- that it will not show nitrate when I test. It’s honestly kind of absurd how much you hav...

Re: Valentini help please!
It sounds like you’re really doing everything you can for him. Fingers crossed. When you say magic erasers, do you mean like...the mr. clean ones? Did you use one the day before puff started having issues??
I hope he’s been okay in the time that’s passed.

Londontowne Tropicals- Edgewater, MD
Not sure how many of you are located in MD, USA, but I wanted to plug our new favorite LFS Londontowne Tropicals. They focus on freshwater and mostly cichlids, but the owner is super knowledgeable and gets oddball puffs in all the time. They’re located in Edgewater, near Annapolis! So if you’re ever...

Re: GSP/Saba puff with fungal/cyst/parasite?
Circle seems flat. Ring wasn’t there on Wednesday, but not sure if it’s growing. It started as kind of what looked like a pimple before coming to a head and flattening out Once I get home from work I’ll check it again.

Re: Long time no see! Possible Saba Puffer???
Yes and no? Sometimes he seems like he's got a bit of a glint, but nothing like the highlight our GSP has. His belly is dark more often and not (seems lighting/behavior related), and despite the lighting in the one picture he tends toward a more yellowish hue. I was more curious just because of how ...

Long time no see! Possible Saba Puffer???
HI EVERYONE!! So after not posting for several years (moves, marriage, and job changes, oh my!), I'm so thrilled to see the community still thriving. I can't tell you how much having this place as a go-to for puffer knowledge has enriched my life- ...puffers may or may not have figured heavily in ou...

Re: Argh! Advice/Planning for Moving??? (F8)
Quite right, Bertie
I stressed a lot over something fairly simple.
Thinking of it as practice now for the eventual (hopeful) move to Maryland...five hours away.
Feather Feesh wants to go where it's warmer, ahahahahaha.

Puffdate: Everything went swimmingly and all the tanks are fine.
Both puffers and bettas handled the move well.

Re: Argh! Advice/Planning for Moving??? (F8)
Remember when I was panicking about this in November? I feel so much more prepared thanks to you guys. All set to move the tanks tomorrow night. Thinking about transporting some of the water too since it's only a five minute drive and no major stairs involved. Thoughts on whether this is necessary i...
