Re: Long time no see! Possible Saba Puffer???

Yes and no? Sometimes he seems like he's got a bit of a glint, but nothing like the highlight our GSP has. His belly is dark more often and not (seems lighting/behavior related), and despite the lighting in the one picture he tends toward a more yellowish hue. I was more curious just because of how ...

Long time no see! Possible Saba Puffer???

HI EVERYONE!! So after not posting for several years (moves, marriage, and job changes, oh my!), I'm so thrilled to see the community still thriving. I can't tell you how much having this place as a go-to for puffer knowledge has enriched my life- ...puffers may or may not have figured heavily in ou...

Re: Argh! Advice/Planning for Moving??? (F8)

Quite right, Bertie :) I stressed a lot over something fairly simple.

Thinking of it as practice now for the eventual (hopeful) move to Maryland...five hours away.

Feather Feesh wants to go where it's warmer, ahahahahaha.

Re: Argh! Advice/Planning for Moving??? (F8)

Remember when I was panicking about this in November? I feel so much more prepared thanks to you guys. All set to move the tanks tomorrow night. Thinking about transporting some of the water too since it's only a five minute drive and no major stairs involved. Thoughts on whether this is necessary i...

Maybe he's a "doubletail halfmoon" (if that is such a thing...Petco thought so, ahaha, so that's what I call Dali). what a pretty blue-green boy!
Are you going to name him? :D

Re: Porcupine Puffer Needs Help!

what's your source for the squid and clams? are they frozen or...? i'm not really sure how much of a difference it would make, but the more knowledgeable members might know. my heart goes out to you, our porc puff had a similar stint like this and didn't make it. pretty sure it was lockjaw, but if y...

This stuff is in my DP tank too! Maddening! No matter how much I keep the lights off/clean/waterchange it always returns. It's trying to take over my marimo balls :(

Re: Help!! Dropsy?

Are you using test strips or liquid kits? sometimes the strips can give inaccurate readings -since you said white for ammonia and pink for nitrate. hope your puff makes a full recovery :( good luck i'd have to wonder what dropsy even looks like on a puffer- all of the examples i've ever seen are of ...

As for her being scared- give her some time. Eventually she'll come to associate your face/presence with food and swim over. Or at least that's been my experience. Now I have a little beggar on my hands every time I approach the tank  https://31.media.tumblr.com/e7a86de683f88f60fa80501d2a14d6a1...

I have a handful of moss balls in my DP tank- they seem to enjoy them, and they're hardy plants. Anything with little caves is a definite plus as well :D

Baby Fahaka at Elmer's FS

Made a trip up to the not-so-local fish store I got Feather from to spend my customer rewards, pick up some supplies, ect. They've started expanding their puffer selection lately and improving their setups (I was so happy to see they finally separated the GSPs and the F8s). This little guy caught my...
