Re: GSP's not growing
Oh ok according to the pufferpedia 30gal is ok for a single gsp? Ok won't feed them lancefish anymore just saw it in the frozen food list, also known as silversides. Sorry if I'm sounding full of it. Just angry because I thought I was caring well for them. But thanks for all the replies. Unfortunate...

Re: GSP's not growing
I haven't treated for parasites in a while because they don't look skinny to me.
They have a huge amount of space, I can understand if they were stunted because they were in a 20gal but they are not crowded.
Please excuse the algae

GSP's not growing
Hi everyone I've had my gsp's for almost 3 years, even flying them with me when I moved. They are in a full marine 55g tank. I had 6, one sort of just wasted away, did make a post about it. Then I went on holiday and when I came back the person who was supposed to care for them did something, and 2 ...

Re: GSP wasting away
Sorry just some additional info, they are in a custom 4ft, only the 7 puffers with "dry rock" you use in reef tanks as well as similar gravel since I'm slowly turning it marine. SG is 1.018 Temp 26C All other parameters are normal I do a 25% wc every 2nd week and use red sea salt and RO wa...

GSP wasting away
Hi Everybody I've been struggling with one of my GSPs for the last 2 and a half months. He is part of my original group of 5 GSPs I got as a present almost 2 years ago. I lost one of those within a week because it got stuck in some decor. Anyway, I moved 3 months ago but it started before that, he h...

Re: My new immaculate puffer
Ok so a quick update, I got a nice skimmer rated for a 200l tank, still fine tuning it. Going to get proper live rock next week. I'm treating the puff with prazi for 5 days, he's very interactive and eating well. He puffed up for my sister's boyfriend (will post a pic) ,and the boyfriend didn't do a...

Re: name that puffer (what kind of fish is this?)
I also think it is a gsp, the big eyes make me think it might be stunted? Is there any other fish in the tank? May we have a full tank shot? What is your water temp? Is there lots of traffic in the room where the tank is? Also is he constantly dark like that? I have a gsp who's belly always turns da...

Re: My new immaculate puffer
Wow thanks for the great feedback everybody I really appreciate it! Ok will get rid of the bubbles and find more proper live rock. They sold him as a dog face puffer. Luckily I got a nice christmas bonus and going to get my skimmer tomorrow or the day after.

Re: My new immaculate puffer
I apologize for not adding where I got the rock. So basically more live rock and to get my skimmer going asap?
Also just to double check, was I correct in thinking this is an immaculate puffer?

Re: My new immaculate puffer
From the link you sent me " Beginning a reef tank using seeded base live rock as the center stones of the aquarium is not a bad idea. Once the base rock is established, then you can begin to add, slowly, more advanced types of live rock." And that is exactly what I did. Another site talks ...

Re: My new immaculate puffer
At the moment the sand is a mix of stuff including aragonite and crushed coral. The rocks I got from an established tank as well as about 3/4 of the water. I was just worried the puffer would destroy the more expensive live rock. But if you think it's best I will buy more live rock. I will also remo...
