Re: 3D driftwood rock background

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure how long it will take for it to be safe, so I guess I'm not sure it is safe. I have read on a bunch of websites however that say, once properly cured concrete is safe. The styrofoam route sounds cool, but the main purpose of basically making the concrete slabs wa...

Re: Extremely small Fahaka, need help!

Although I wouldn't recommend it, from my experience with various freshwater pufferfish species, that: 1. A pufferfish will continue to grow in a small tank, if a large normal healthy diet is provided, and the water parameters are kept perfect. 2. I don't think pufferfish excrete any metabolites to ...

Re: 3D driftwood rock background

Re: Those with Fahakas

I've noticed that if I add a ton of pond snails or baby crayfish, in a large enough quantity that they have time to hide, my puffer will be actively hunting throughout the week. This majority of the time (about 4 out of every 5 weeks) however, I feed frozen food once a day, and during these weeks I ...

Re: fahaka and temp

Mines kept at 70 F, and he's usually begging for food. I realize this might be low, but I think keeping the temperature constant is the important thing. I was told that I couldn't keep small polyp stony corals successfully at that low of a temperature, and they grew so fast I was soon trading frags ...

Re: What's your puffer's name?

At one of my house parties some random person kept calling my fahaka puffer "Francis", and somehow it stuck. I guess that's his name.

3D driftwood rock background

I am planning on making a 3D background for my newly acquired 150 gallon aquarium. My baby fahaka puffer is in a 75, and before I move it I would like to make a 3D background. Before I make a huge mistake I figured I would ask my fellow hobbyist. Here is the plan: 1. Cut egg crate into 3 pieces that...
