Re: Driftwood tannin..
There is nothing evil about GAC, but it generally cost more than water. Lots of breeders do 100% water changes or more daily. Do keep in mind that in the wild fish get a lot more changes than that much of the year... Yea that is what I was informed by one of our LFS. He told me the direct importer ...

Re: Driftwood tannin..
Ok thanks. Wouldn't it stress him doing 75% WC?Pufferpunk wrote:I have 2 huge pieces of driftwood in 2 large tanks. I do 75% weekly WC, to bring the color back to normal. The older piece is finally not turning the water brown.

Driftwood tannin..
I've been treating my driftwood to be fully submersible but it's still giving out tannins. Would it be ok for my Fahaka if I put that into his tank?

Jumpers?
Are fahaka notorious jumpers aswell? Wouldn't they jump out the tank if it's not covered?

Re: New Fahaka Sick
I can see improvement on my fahaka's colorization. He is also moving around the tank now, so I guess what he encounter before are just normal signs of being stressed and or uncomfortable.

Re: New Fahaka Sick
I'd let nature take its course just for a day. Then I'll put them dats in the 30gal tank I'm cycling. Is it normal for the fahaka to have pale skin when they are new to the tank? Good thing now is that when he first got in the tank he just stayed on the left side of the tank all the time. Now he is ...

Re: New Fahaka Sick
Yeah. Give him a while to adjust to the new environment. Place some deco in there for hiding. The white rings could just be bite marks. Nothing to worry about. Your ex fahaka died in this same tank? There is a small cave like driftwood there, but he barely go there. He stayed more in the left side ...

Re: New Fahaka Sick
I just got my new puffer for free. It's with the same batch as my previous puffer. I really checked it out before picking it up. It's abit bigger than my previous one. This is more like 4" where as my previous puffer is just 3" to 3.5". It also got nice coloration. Now here is the thi...

Re: When it comes to puffers, Google is not your best friend
There was a white spot on his side. He is gone already! I told LFS about it and he is willing to replace it since I got the puffer sick. I hope I can make this work. Thanks to this forum, I feel I'm more prepared for this puffy.Pufferpunk wrote:Is it on his fins? Could just be his spines.

Re: Fahaka Puffer Tank & Filtration
Til what size would a 75gal suffice for a fahaka? This is also the current home of my 3"-4" fahaka although currently he is on a 10gal hospital tank following the ich guide since he is suffering from one lately.

Re: every puffer have ip?
I keep on seeing "add garlic juice" is it just simply adding a garlic powder in the mix or a fresh sliced garlic?

New here!
Hi, I just got my Fahaka (my 1st puffer) few hours ago after a month of research (which I know I still need to know more about it) I find it more interesting to own this beauty by just knowing there is a special forum dedicated for the puffers and it's hobbyist. I guess this are really a fascinating...

Re: What's your puffer's name?
Hi, I'm just new here. Kinda research about ich issue and I stumbled here. Just got my fahaka puff awhile ago. The sticky here is very helpful. I've seen improvements on my puff.
I wanna name him PapaPUFF! Another follow-up question is, how can we sexed it?
