GSP New Setup at New Home-Questions?
Hello again everyone, :) My latest post informed everyone I would be moving to California-I am there now and in the process of setting up a tank for my Gsp's who are still back in Colorado. As noted before, I have 3 Gsp's-two in a 40 gallon and 1 in a 15. They have been growing and the two in the 40...

Moving to Lower Altitude-3GSP's Help?
Hi Everyone! Due to a lot of medical problems I've been having, I most likely will be having to move to a lot lower altitude than where I am currently residing. I currently live in Colorado, and would be moving to San Jose, California. Problem is, I have my three green spotted puffers to move with a...

Re: GSP's New Tank Decor
Thank you for all of the replies! The salt creep has been a major pain in the butt, so Im glad you all mentioned that-I will take a trip to petsmart today and at least figure out what all I need to buy for their tanks-submersible pump, more decor, etc. I'm also going to take a look at the tanks just...

GSP's New Tank Decor
Hello again everyone, I'm so happy to be out of the hospital section as far as my puffers go. They're all so happy and my little one that's in his separate tank doesn't have any more parasites! :D Well, all 3 of my babies are starting to grow, and I'm thinking about at least expanding the tank that ...

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
I have to say this is a remarkable event. We all thought is was likely to be what it is, a puffer living his whole life with a worm in him. Surgery likely to end in death, shortened life by the worm staying in there etc. what a fighter you have, should be named either lucky or miracle. The ironic t...

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
Yup! He's a happy little guy now. Still has this 'lump' on his spine, but I don't think it's a parasite..hasn't moved at all, and seems to be just a slight deformation on his body? Least I hope so.wetmartini wrote:I was so happy to read that your puffer made it through OK

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
Did you ever receive the Finquel I sent you? Yes I did!! But I havent had to use it. It's still in the little envelope by my other fishy stuff. I received it the day that the worm actually came out of him. Also, He's drastically improving. Each day he's been more and more white for an extended amou...

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
He's been through a lot so stress is to be expected, it's common for puffers to be calmer in the dark. Just bear with him and keep a close eye on him. I'm so glad it seems to be improving. Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
Glad things are looking up for you and your GSP. :) Thank you :) he's been doing really well. his wound is almost completely healed, and he's his happy self. One thing ive noticed though is that his stomach is still black most of the time. I dont see any more potential worm bumps, but will keep an ...

Re: Greetings from a french puffer owner
I agree with Bertie-I hope they're not all in one tank? and If so, it's a large one? No doubt take PufferPunk's word of advise-she has been insanely helpful on my end and knows exactly what she's talking about.
Anyway, welcome to the forums!

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
Update:
Wound size is about half this morning.I'm fairly certain this was the worm and the issue, but I would still like some opinions if anyone is familiar with this type of worm.

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
As I told Pufferpunk, a wound started appearing on my puffers tail where the worm was. It started to rot. I kept adding melaix, and this morning there was a chunk from him on the bottom of the tank. Fished it out, and this is what I found: http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/8674/photo13eb.jpg Puffer...

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
I have gotten Finquel from DFS or on Ebay. I have a bunch here--I'll never use all of it. I could send you some. Really? Thank you that would be so awesome! I'll PM you my mailing address. I'm searching online for a steril surgical scalpel. Found some, it's just the whole waiting for it in the mail...

Re: Green Spotted Puffer Help! Parasite?
Thanks guys- I didnt think about the clove oil damage..that's why I have you guys here to help! I was attempting to use an exacto...but a scalpel would deff be a lot sharper and more sterile. I noticed the sandpaper skin pretty dang quickly and got him back into his tank as fast as possible once I w...
