Re: At a Loss with Valentini Puffer....

There are 2 kinds of frog spawn (bi-colored & green one), a small group of zoos, a finger leather, a candy cane frag with about 6 heads, 4 blasto heads, 4 frilly mushrooms and some blue and red mushrooms. Last but not least, a mint pavona. All have been in the tank since the 1st week in January ...

At a Loss with Valentini Puffer....

I am at a total loss with my little Valentini :( She spends a lot of time sitting in the sand and she has not been eating like she normally does. I have had her for 1 1/2 years and she has never acted like this. It started about a week ago and at first she was constipated. She was pretty rounded in ...

Re: Not sure what this Lump on Valentini Puffer is...

It has stayed in the same spot and it does not seem to be growing. Otherwise, she seems the same happy fish.

Not sure what this Lump on Valentini Puffer is...

I hope you can help me. My Valentini Puffer showed up with this lump on the left side of her neck 2 days ago. She is in a 30 gallon tank with 1 Lawn Mower Blenny. Initially, I thought it might be air or she picked at a snail, but it has not gone away, nor has it increased in size. It is the lump rig...

Re: Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

What is your recommendation to use in place of these bags? They are pretty gross looking, but as a newbie, I was just using what came with the sump :?

Re: Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

Thanks PP! I'm glad to know I'm not crazy for assuming I still need to do water changes periodically. I have the Eshopps RS-200 sump with dual filter bags. I assume I should take these off, swish around in the drained water and make sure all the "junk/crap) inside the bag is removed and place b...

Re: Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

So got the Reef Octopus XPSSS(super space saver) 1000. Would like to have gotten a bigger one, but the larger the size, the taller the unit. For now, it will have to do. Got it in the sump and its been going thru the break in cycle. Tank has been great, water parameters have been staying at 0 in the...

Re: Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

The base rock was this stuff. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-live-seed-rocks-40lbs-dry-rock-Aquarium-use-/151017519008?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23295877a0 Correct, no NEW live rock. The G3 rated to 250g and within my budget, is this sufficient? Also, parameters: HPH: 8.2 Am: 0 N02: 0 N03: 0 ...

Re: Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

Oh thanks P.P. I didn't get the fish go last in the first post. All rock is out of the tank except for 2 large pieces that have corals glued to them and some additional ones I placed there for temp purposes. I was just getting ready to test the parameters. The rock from the old tank was just put in ...

Re: Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

The new tank is right next to the old one, so it was pretty easy to transfer the rock over. I have left the corals and fish and the rest of the livestock in the old tank until I hear the feedback from you all. The new tank is just running right now with the rock, sand and sump. I have one of the pow...

Upgrading moving/transferring tank.....

So, after 3+ months of "swimming" with my fish, my Husband and I decided it was time to look at better options. I am only 5 feet tall and the current situation just wasn't working (24 inches high tank + 3 foot high stand = huge step stool, in the tank up to my armpits everyday and wet all ...

Re: Friend or Foe.... Aiptasia?

Well I pulled the rock out, injected the pest and made sure to remove the entire blob. Rinsed the area with water and place back in the tank. Hopefully I caught and removed it before it spread. The buttons are all open and happy for now. I will keep watching for future invaders :? Thanks for your he...

Friend or Foe.... Aiptasia?

image.jpg Just wondering if someone can help me determine the identity of this single polyp in my Green Button zoa's. I have a rock with about 50+ green button zoa's and this one mystery guest. At first I thought is was a small nem, but now I'm wondering if it is the aiptasia pest. Thanks for the h...
