Re: Diodon holocanthus with crypt

Doesn't that just say to use copper or hypo? I thought neither of those were good?

Diodon holocanthus with crypt

I know there are some threads on this, but I have a hard time sorting through and finding the information I need. Please forgive me. I have a 210 aqueon tank, pH is 8.0, kH, 9, SG 1.023, Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates ~10. I have a small Diodon holocanthus who came down with a case of crypt nearly ...

Porcupine eating a mussel

Every once in a while I get some mussels from the grocery store. I open the shell a bit and drop it in. Sean goes nuts for them!:)

Re: Puffer feeding question

Maybe I should be clear, it is a Mombassa Lion, NOT a Volitan.

Re: Puffer feeding question

Is it ok because fish is not the main component and he is still getting his crustacean and mollusk fix? He's my favorite so I want to keep him healthy. As far as the Lionfish goes, they both keep to themselves. The puffer never pays any attention to the lion and doesn't pick on him at all. He's a bi...

Puffer feeding question

I have a fairly large porcupine puffer (8-9") in my 150 gallon FOWLER. I have a semi aggressive predator tank so I feed primarially meaty frozen foods (shrimp, krill, jumbo mysis, silverslides to the lion, tusk, and eel). I recently bought a very chunky blend of "Larry's food." I thin...

Fin scars from Ich

I recently had an Ich outbreak which has since cleared up. My Porcupine Puffer was pretty bad with ich all over his body and fins. All the ich is gone, but he still has white spots on his fins. There are no granular looking things, so I think they are scars. Is this possible? He acts fine and isn't ...

Re: Store bought shrimp

Ends badly for who? They seem to get along now. He is a dwarf so he shouldn't get that big.

Store bought shrimp

I've been trying to vary my Porcupine Puffer's diet. He's about 6 inches now and very active. I bought some raw (previously frozen) shrimp from the grocery store deli. I cut up some pieces and gave them to my puffer and dwarf lion. My question is, should I leave the shell on? I know that he needs to...
