Re: F8P not doing well
The metro I was given by the LFS because I suspected IPs. Now I am just adding it to the water as it states that it helps heal skin conditions quickly and is a slime coat replacer. Some how this fish is still alive and swimming around but mostly it sits on the bottom. I am sure it's blind as it runs...

Re: F8P not doing well
I have been doing that minus the used filter media and the biospira, which I know would be most beneficial. It's actually still with us today though looking like crap. It's got more white stuff hanging off him, though seems to be better as it's not getting stuck to the filter. Though today he's not ...

Re: F8P not doing well
The one in the picture is definitely going to pass soon.. He's just kind of aimlessly swimming around the aquarium and then stops and gets stuck to the filter and then will swim off of it and do this over and over. I imagine one time he wont have the energy to get away from it. I have put the net ov...

Re: F8P not doing well
Although burry, this picture is best for you to be able to see what is going on with it's fins.

Re: F8P not doing well
Ok Thank you for the replies! I noticed after giving the f8ps treatment for the IPs, the healthy one is now on the bottom of the tank with rapid breathing and very lethargic. He's still got beautiful colours so I am hoping he just needs some time. I did about a 1/3 water change in hopes it would hel...

Re: F8P not doing well
I went to the LFS to get something for the IP and they gave me Metro+. It apparently treats lots of things including IPs. So far it's been a challenge to get them to eat it. They take a bite and spit it out, even with the garlic and shrimp. He seems more lively now, but the white coating is progress...

Re: F8P not doing well
Ok sounds good ... Looks as though I will be trying to find a treatment for IPs.. I was watching him swim about and saw something protruding his anus and it appeared red in colour. I kept watching to see if it he would pass it to see what it was, but it retracted back inside and the shape of it`s ab...

Re: F8P not doing well
I had just had snails in the tank before the puffers, and I guess I didn't realize how much of a mess they made :S The snails were only in there for about a month before the puffers ate them all ;) How often does the filter need to be cleaned? Previously I had never cleaned it as I thought it would ...

Re: F8P not doing well
He does eat, though not a lot and often spits it out or about 30 mins later will regurgitate. He does digest some as he has a lump in his tummy afterwards still. I am really not sure what to treat this guy for.. I put in melafix last night and as I was taking out the carbon filter a lot of debris fr...

Re: F8P not doing well
Yeah he's pretty awful. That's my goal right now. Trying to get the tank under control! It's weird because a week and a 1/2 ago I thought my other puffer was going to die, because he was doing the same thing. without the weird fin issues. I made a call to my LFS and they didn't really help much. He ...

Re: F8P not doing well
I have an ammonia remover.. My nitrates and nitrites are fine so I am just using my dechlorinator I have, which does what prime does minus removing nitrates and nitrites. I am just using basic aquarium rocks. I am wondering if you could help figure out what this could possibly be on my puffer, if an...

Re: F8P not doing well
In the past it has been! (right now I am having ammonia issues..) I have a picture somewhere that I took comparing the two, it was awful! Little puffer is still hanging on. Still lethargic though.. I also noticed that my pH is tanking.. Which I am sure is why this little guy is doing so bad. My tank...

Re: F8P not doing well
I know it's gross right!!
I had a tank set up for 3 years then fish just died one after the other. Not sure what happened there, but either way the water didn't seem to negatively affect that tank ammonia wise.
Thanks again

Re: F8P not doing well
Thanks for your post Pufferpunk! I read through it all and will see what I can do! Flutter - The ammonia in my tap water is about 1ppm.. I just did a water change and tested it again and it's between .50 and 1... which is the lowest I've seen it in a while! So far the puffer is still alive and eatin...
