Porcupine Puffer
Well, I got my dad a pp and it didn't make it. :( I feel guilty. Don't know why anymore but just wanted to ask a question about these fish. How many could I put in a 125 gallon? I am planning on setting my tank up and breeding them to try to help take the strain off the wild population. I also need ...

Re: Puffers?
Thanks for all the responses. I may have to rethink my plan. :/ I'm planning on dedicating my 125 gallon as a brackish crab tank. Would I be able to keep f8s with crabs? I know gsps will eat crabs, so that's not going to happen. What would you say would be the minimum tank size for f8s? I believe I ...

Re: Puffers?
@defool89: yeah I've decided not to get a fahaka. @bertie 83: yeah, and since they need 24" I'm not getting one. I'd hate to get one only to have it get nerve damage because my tank wasn't wide enough. @sgtmyers88: thanks. I'll be getting 4. Now, does anyone have experience with the Amazon/Sout...

Porcupine Puffer Care?
I want to get my dad a porcupine puffer for his 100 gallon saltwater setup. He has it set up and cycled. It has 2 clownfish, 1 engineer goby, and 1 damsel. Will it be okay in here or will it have conflicts with the other fish? Also, what could I feed it so its teeth won't overgrow? I may be getting ...

What food?
What food should I feed my puffers when I get them? I know they occasionally need shelled things like snails to cut down their teeth. What foods are good for this based on the size of the puffer? What I mean: Puffer size: Food to cut down teeth Dwarf (Dps): Don't need any (I think) Small (?" - ...

Re: Puffers?
mixing different puffers is generally a no go, very few will live with other types of puffer and even the most calm and placid puffer could turn nasty and kill everything in sight. I have even had my hand attacked Okay, did not know that. :o Thanks for letting me know so I won't make that mistake. ...

Re: Puffers?
Ammo, nitri and nitra are the most important tests. How are you cycling these tanks. For the brackish tanks use aragnite sand, for the f/w it's down to preference. In the 125 you could have a fahaka depending on your measurements, you could have south American puffers ( colomesus assellus) as you c...

Puffers?
Hey all. I'm looking to set up a few of my tanks and puffers have caught my eye. I have 1 x 125 gallon and 2 x 75 gallons as well as a bunch of small ones. I was wondering which puffers I could keep together successfully without too many problems. I want one or two tank brackish and one fresh. I was...
