Re: Tetraodon Schoutedeni!? NEED ID PLEASE
Wow that site is stupid. Lots of wrong information! This is a fluviatilis: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y228/hadla/IMG_5553_zpsr3j7npsx.png  yikes....it's so confusing!! If what you have in your pic is a fluviatilis, then that site I was looking at is way off. If I had to guess, I'd thin...

Re: Tetraodon Schoutedeni!? NEED ID PLEASE
Appreciate the quick response. Thank you for identifying this one as a GSP. A GSP is a tetraodon nigroviridis right?...I always get these names mixed up. In fact, it's very confusing to ID these as my best guess would have been T. fluviatilis based on the body shape according to this site: http://pu...

Tetraodon Schoutedeni!? NEED ID PLEASE
I found a puffer that looks be a schoutedeni but wanted the confirmation of the experts. It is over 3 inches long and at first, I thought it had ich since I noticed little bumps on the body. Upon closer inspection, it seems that these bumps are evenly spaced across the back and sides of the puffer s...

These guys suck!
So my SAPS are hunting down a ton of snails as I find empty shells all over the place in the mornings. I throw in MTS, ramshorn, and bladder snails of all sizes to help keep their beaks filed down. However, none of the shells are broken except for 1 MTS shell. All the others are empty bladder snail ...

But they will settle as long as the tank is big enough and the get enough stimulus Thanks for sharing your experience as that gives me some hope...

Re: Fahaka puffer care
When mine got bigger, I used to feed mine cockle shells, market shrimp, apple snails, and crab legs...heck, now that I think about it, he ate better than I did. Well, except for the snails..yuck. Kept mine in eco complete substrate with lots of plants and had no issues

They're driving me nuts
I have a group of 5 South American Puffers and their neurotic behavior is driving me crazy!! I've had plenty of puffers: Mbu, GSP, fahaka, miurius, F8, lorteti, DP's, and avocado. Apart from the energetic avocado puffers, I've never seen a more restless and neurotic fish than these SAPs. Even the av...

They don't get a whole lot bigger...maybe 3 inches max that I've seen but I have no idea how old those were.

Re: WTB: Tetraodon Colomessus (South American Puffer)
I just got some as well and treated them for internal worms (just in case) and after a week, I'm starting to see ich as well. They eat well but are different than any other puffers I've had. Rather than hovering place to place, they zoom around the tank constantly like some avocado puffers I...

WTB: Tetraodon Colomessus (South American Puffer)
Been looking for a group of South American Puffers, or Bumblebee Puffers. I used to see them every for like $8/each. Now that actually want some, I can't seem to find them anywhere except for auction sites at $15-$25 or more, that's when they're available. Looking to get a group of 10 or more. Pleas...
