Re: help me id this puffer
Just saw the video... that's not even a A. hispidus. It's a A. reticularis. But what I said about A. hispidus above is also true for A. reticularis, e.g. in Sri Lanka and Indonesia. I agree Reticularis, not seen that color form (i.e. that dark but could be the video) the Retulicaris all seem to com...

Re: dwarf puffer not eating, very skinny
Unfortunately, water column bacteia cannot do all the jobs we need to have done to keep our wet pets alive and healyhy. HTH That was never suggested or implied, Just that some bacteria can be found in the water column which can be helpful in "cycling" a tank, why add liquid containing ben...

Re: dwarf puffer not eating, very skinny
There is also plenty of the bacteria in the water column is not zero just less significant but you can seed tanks with a water column transfer but better to use filter media or substrate. I understand refreshing the environment via water changes and garlic to entice +ve feeding response. What about...

Re: Sap info please :)
I think a 48" 55g tank would be long enough & large enough for4-5 SAPs. We have had our three in a 55gallon for around 2years now, we provide 2 counter current power circulators close to both long axes so they are basically swimming against the flow most if the time. Our usual x2-3 over fi...

Re: Advise SAP
we have had our SAPs for close to a year now, they were picky eaters but the key is high flow as they seem to like high currents. For food we try to provide a variety of seafood. minishrimps work very well (Asian supermarket freezer section), pieces of langoustine with shell on them. cuttlefish etc....

Re: Baby Ceylon Puffers on Ebay
These are great fish, Its good to see them in North America and one of my favorite puffers, a year ago they were on the lists but never made it to our area. We will be looking for them now we are seeing them imported. They are sort of a "happy puffer" even though that is personification of...

Re: Resuced - Need some advice
I would not worry about the dark shading on the stomach (seen it before), don't think its anything. concentrate on getting the food diversity up to give strength and add some flow to exercise (S)he.. the dark coloration may be lots of yellow in your white bulb.. we have a temporary lighting arrangem...

Not brain-dead, just misinformed & uneducated in the world of puffers, as are most LFS employees! :/ I would prefer to be labelled as misinformed than ignorant. To me ignorance suggests that you have no desire to learn. But hey that's the English language for you; many words can have similar me...

Re: Will figure 8's get along with cutcutia puffer
Not brain-dead, just misinformed & uneducated in the world of puffers, as are most LFS employees! :/ Basically I agree, but we should find out who does the ordering and go back to them and educate those people rather than passively sitting back and criticizing. So many times I have been told th...
