Re: Porcupine Puffer Compatibility with Another Puffer?
Watching my porc and s&s grow up together was awesome. They were best friends and never had a fight once. But I will agree and say it was probably the luck of the draw and their age when I got them. When my porc died my s&s just turned into another fish. So I will say they can work together,...

Re: porcupine puffer and CUC
My urchin has done just fine. None of the emerald crabs or snails made it, but the urchin has been with Fat Boy for years.

Re: Nitrate levels
My tank is pretty spotless and I have lots of flow. I only have like 5 fish. My problem probably is the amount I feed my S&S. Ive cut it down tremendously to try and help the nitrates.

Re: My New Little Guy
Get ready to do lots of water changes. My S&S grew like a weed after I got him. Hes now around 9-10 inches and eats like a pig. Nitrates are a never ending battle. AWESOME looking fish though. You'll be best buddies.

Re: chewed through power head cords
Yea that was good stuff. I like the idea of running cords through pvc piping. And at the moment I dont need a stronger pump. I have two that are running at either end of the tank and making lots of circulation. It more that the overflow is having a hard time draining it fast enough. It would be bett...

chewed through power head cords
So my stars and stripes has now chewed through two power head cords and Im wondering what my options are to stop this. I know there are the vortech but I feel this is a waste of money for a fish only system. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your solution? After that happened I have added m...

Re: Nitrate levels
So everyone says puffers need pristine water conditions. I was wondering what the usual nitrate level people do water changes at. I do a 50% change once a week when my nitrates hit 20. Is this ok? Should I do a water change sooner? you will hear that about any marine fish. The bad part is, puffers ...

Re: Mappa, Starry and co. Feeding time
Lucky guy to have a mappa make it. they are a very hard puffer to acclimate into a aquarium. mine made it about 3 weeks. :( I will say the same as another said that they will eventually cause problems together. I have a s&s and porc that dont get along at this point when it comes to feedings so ...
