I read here (see the second post in the thread) that the temperature should be at about 15-18 degrees celsius (that's about 59-64.5 degrees fahrenheit). Is that how low you mean, or do you mean more around the 21-22 degrees celsius (about 71-71....

Takifugu ocellatus - brackish/marine/freshwater?

The PufferPedia lists Takifugu ocellatus ( http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Marine/T_Ocellatus/ ) as likely brackish or marine, but on at least two online sites I've seen specimens being sold as freshwater fish. The PufferPedia entry for this fish points to a FishBase entry (...

Since the females death, the male has been colourless and very distant, so today i thought id completely overhaul his tank try to make it "his" rather than whats left over from when the 2 shared it. So i got some rather lovely Java Ferns and gave the tank a clean out, 50% water change and...

Yes she has always looked that good :) The male is also looking great and seems to get more and more social with me :) Uh-oh! It seems as though the male may have a thing for both of you females! I would be a bit apprehensive. The male looked like he was showing his dominance. I would be worried fo...

The dude that tried to prove the Earth travels around the sun was "Copernicas," from whom we get terms such as "Copernican revolution," though there may have been others. On the topic of someone in this thread claiming to keep fish for a long period of time in RO/DI water, I do n...

I also keep aragonite substrate in my snail-breeding tanks. As of recently, I have been using my main community tank as a snail propagation facility, so I just added aragonite and crushed oyster shells (sold at the pet store in the bird section for next-to-nothing) to the substrate. The snails are j...

I have realised that I hadn't ever given a final statement as to the puffer's condition. Everything turned out just fine. The puffer has been healthy all these past months. Thank you to all who assisted in the matter.

Just let it be able to get away from whatever's bothering it, including your face at the glass. If your particular fish isn't skittish, then this is less important than if you have a ...

When I had three in a ten-gallon tank, there were no problems in terms of aggression. Then one got sucked into the filter. With only two, one of them harassed the other one until it finally got exhausted and died.

Kugelkat (member of this forum) and I transported a bagged and boxed T. baileyi from Chicago to Toronto by car. It was in the bag more than 8 hours. There was oxygen in the bag.
