Re: feeding gsp

Thanks for your reply. Typically the snails are about the size of his eye. Sometimes I do fed him a nice fat one! He does get all the meat out so the shells are empty. There is this lower place in the sand that has 5 or 6 shells together. It's green goblins bone yard! Haha

Re: feeding gsp

Defrost the peas in with his meaty foods he should take them Good idea. I will try that! My next question: my little guy is still only about an inch, maybe a little less. When I drop snails in for him he only eats the meaty part. The shells are left behind. I have been leaving the shells in the tan...

Re: Set up questions for a GSP

Not sure on #1
But as for the bw, check with where you are getting it from if they are bw our fw. When I got mine he was in fw. I've kept him fw for now because I'm waiting until I can buy a refractometer. In the past I was told it was ok to keep them fw for a while (6mo out so) before switching to bw

Refractometer?

I am going to start changing my gsp tank over to brackish. I am looking at the refractometers on ebay and amazon because they are much cheaper! Anyway is there anyone that will recommend a specific brand or model number? Any that I should stay away from? I do have the hygrometer, but quickly learned...

Yea I did. After a few hours I had to fish it out and dropped in a snail for him instead. Interesting little bite marks on it though!

feeding gsp

I've had my little gsp for less then a week. I've fed him a variety including snails, brine shrimp and blood worms. I know most people will gut load their puffers food, but I haven't gotten to this level yet. I fasted him yesterday, as I do my other fish. Today I feed them shelled green peas. Should...

Re: hello!

Welcome to the forum, well done on cycling his tank ready for his arrival. Some one will post some helpful links shortly for you. It is cheaper and better long term to go full marine. Oh and just to add long term you will need a larger tank. 30g min is recommended but bigger is better, the bio load...

hello!

Hi all! I am new to the puffer world. Last Wednesday, 6/13, after much research, I finally purchased my first green spotted puffer. My daughter quickly named him Goblin and he was later christened with the full name of Green Goblin. He is currently only about an inch long and still 100% fresh water....
