Re: The puffers

Irrubesco females. Some in poor conditions. I would treat for IPs if they are eating normally.

Re: Newly set up planted tank - advice needed

Otos are very sensitive to water parameters variations. Therefore it's normally suggested to add them only to very stable tanks, usually running for at least few months. I would start with the DPs first and then add the Otos later.

Re: URGENT - Help needed

Probably she is just fine. But two weeks of maturation is not enough for a tank to be safe. You could be still completing the nitrogen cycle and having a peak of NO2!!! No matter which bacterial activator you used 4 weeks its the minimum to be sure that the filter is mature.

Re: Questions about Red Eyed Puffers

Hi I have 5 C. Irrubesco, 2 males and 3 females. I feed mine once a day, six days a week, with as much food to make their belly round and full. Try to variate the diet as much as possible. Mine are crazy for bloodworms but they accept also adult artemia, Krill and Daphniae. And some snails every now...

Re: C.irrubesco planted tank

Thanks to everyone. RSV: yes most of the fish are very small and will stay like that. The biological load of this tank is insufficient to sustain plant growth. I have to ADD NO3 and PO4 at each water change to keep them at measurable levels. Without integration they go to 0 in one week, and plant su...

Re: C.irrubesco planted tank

Bertie 83: One fish per gallon? It's quite ridiculous. One measure for every fish? RVS: yes the left side is a bit empty. I had some problems with B. japonica and P. palustris. They stopped growing due to incorrect NO3 and PO4 concentrations. Now the problem seems solved and they are growing back, s...
