Yeah, I just added 7 neon tetras and 3 bleeding hearts to the tank. I figure I'll let them "rule the roost" for a month or so before adding either some dwarves or SAPs.

55g - how many SAPs/Dwarfs?

Hi, I'm setting up my 55 gallon freshwater tank (to be cycled w/ Bio-Spira) and am trying to decide on tankmates. I am currently thinking maybe 7 dwarfs (ha!) and 3 SAPs. My water change schedule (being realistic) will be 50% every 2 weeks. Also, I promised my wife there'd be something "pretty&...

Thanks a lot but I just bought some praziquantel (Droncit) off of the internet. If I were to buy that pig dewormer would you mix the powder into the water you soak the puffer's frozen food in and then feed the fish the medicated food?? Just wondering...

Anyone ever had any luck with obtaining Droncit (praziquantel) to treat internal parasites? I'm in Iowa and am having a terrible time getting a vet to even listen to my reasoning about why I need it. They all just say they don't treat fish and then tell me that they won't just give out the medicatio...

don't bother with 123fish...for some reason they still list Discomed but just do so so they can recommend other meds that they sell. Talk about stupid. Turns out I waited a whole week for the med and now still don't have anything to use...

It's a treatment for internal parasites that is supposed to work really well. Pufferpunk-Go to 123fish.net -click on "enter aquarium store" -go up to the upper left corner of the page and enter "disc" into the search box -when the search results come up it should be about the 2nd...

ok

Just ordered a double batch of Discomed, 2-day air. Hopefully it gets here in time to help out my GSP. Any special instructions on use that would differ from the packaging? Also, I thought I read somewhere that people sometimes just treat ALL new fish they get for internal parasites. Does anyone her...

he eats and isn't that skinny. He looks more bloated than skinny. Just as plump as always. Just not swimming around much, hanging out at top of tank, stringy feces. Any ideas?

ok

So now I can see a stringy trail of feces coming out of the GSP. This means internal parasites for sure, right?? I really need to know what medication to use because he has been like this for probably a week now. What med should I go get and how do I use it best?? Thanks so much everyone!!

thanks

So do you think my GSP's problem is that nitrates? He's still just mainly floating around towards the top of the tank. He still eats when I feed him, he just acts unenergetic the rest of the time. He's also not that skinny so that's why I'm wondering if it's not really internal parasites. Thanks aga...
