Re: Leopard Puffer vs. Valentini Puffer
Moving into an apartment at the end of February and I won't have the money right now to setup two aquariums. I would much rather stick with just one so I will continue to do some research about a centerpiece fish. Was hoping to fill that spot with the Sunburst/Fathead Anthias and the puffer but it d...

Re: Leopard Puffer vs. Valentini Puffer
I am leaning towards the Leopard Toby because they say the max size is about 3" and I really like the colors more. I really like the Valentini as well though. The biggest problem is the corals. I plan to have a large number of corals in the tank for the colors and they are really fun to watch b...

Re: Leopard Puffer vs. Valentini Puffer
That has helped a lot actually. I have been leaning towards the Leopard Puffer because it only gets 3" and a site that I found says that it can be kept in a minimum of 25 gallons. I just want to make sure I can keep the other stock as well. I have a number of zoanthids and palythoas (poisonous)...

Re: GSP?
The only problem is that I currently have saltwater fish that are going to need a larger tank soon. I think that either the Leopard or the Valentini will work well in the tank. I am going to create another thread and hopefully get some more information on those two fish so I can make the best decisi...

Re: GSP?
I apologize to all for being stubborn but I thought I saw successful stories of keep a figure 8 puffer in a marine aquarium. I had no idea they lived for such a long period of time. I just really wanted to make it work since they are such a unique looking fish. I'm sure keeping the Leopard Puffer wi...

Re: GSP?
I have heard that unless you actually have the tank setup for clown fish breeding then the odds of the fry actually surviving are very low. I have also heard they a lot of the time they eat there own eggs. The cardinalfish i was in a magazine as being one of the top three easier marine fish to breed...

Re: GSP?
I have heard a ton of things said by the people that work at my LFS that I know is incorrect. I argue to make sure that you can back up the information and isn't just information you were by someone that has no idea what he is talking about. I have found sources online that say that Figure 8 Puffers...

Re: GSP?
Due to most species of fish being wild caught the lifespan is nothing compared to what they are in the wild. The only dog that is found in the wild now is a wolf. The rest have been bred over the years to be made specifically for captive care. I know that larger fish can be kept for a long period of...

Re: GSP?
I used to have a shark in my 300 gallon aquarium and the only things that would go missing were the large hermit crabs that we put into the tank for him to eat. Do they live 15 years in captivity or in the wild? The information on those two pages looks like something pulled off of a website which fr...
