Nill. The parameters of my tank have always great.

Re: Odd friendship.

The sharks are gone. Preuss Pets (best pet shop in Michigan) will find them a good home. They were starting to get on the big side the day was always going to come. They were very well behaved and got along well with all the other fish. I had them for two years with three GSPs and Mr. Eight, as well...

Re: Odd friendship.

Within the next month or so I plan to catch the sharks and take them to the LFS. I have a really nice one nearby that will take fish and find them homes. (Preuss Pets). Right now, I want to keep them because they seem to calm the new puffer. Once he settles in, they will go. Do you a good bottom cle...

Re: Odd friendship.

Col sharks grow to 18" & are schooling fish. I know that and am prepared to find them a new home when they get too large. Why is it a cruel death for the porc? F8's lifespan should reach close to 20 years, which is why I asked how long you were able to keep them in SW, since it's not recom...

Re: Odd friendship.

Why? Please advise.

This is the second F8 I've converted to marine. Mr.Eight is doing great and his color and attitude is better than ever. I'll update you if there is any decline.

Re: Odd friendship.

That is cute, f8 should not be in marine though. I knew you'd say that. :-) He's doing quite well. Actually happier than he was in brackish. I've been keeping puffers for over 20 years and have converted from brackish to marine a few times. My last marine tank was a puffer species tank with 5 diffe...

Odd friendship.

I thought you might enjoy this kind of odd story. A couple days ago I picked up my new baby porcupine puffer. He's the last member of a new FOWLR tank I switched over from brackish. I few fish made the switch as well including a pair of Columbian Shark catfish and a FIgure 8. They really seem happy ...

Re: Alain la Vache

Adult cowfish are hefty and picky and can poison their own tank if harasses. And those horns on adults are proportionally much smaller than on the small ones. As with many family members, they need space and do offer risks to tankmates and themselves. Their branch of the family can dump their toxin...

Re: Alain la Vache

Thank you guys. Sorry, I guess I over reacted. I thought I had done something wrong. I didn't know what POTM meant. I certainly feel stupid now. I know all the risks of cowfish, but I love them so much. I am prepared for all situations. Many years ago I had a boxfish that got upset and some of my fi...

Re: Alain la Vache

I didn't enter POTM because I didn't know I had to (I don't know what that even means). Sorry for breaking the rules. I probably have been raising puffer since before you were born. I just got a new tank after years of pulling my life back together, and thought I would share om joy. I thought it was...

He's just a baby. Three inches from horn tip to horn tip. He is super friendly and curious.

Just full. He's a fat boy who always stays on the round side. Thought, in this video I let him eat a bit more than usual because I was filming him. At the very end, I'm saying "I better that this out before Fishie kills himself."

Re: Shrimp time for Fishie Fish

Beautiful tank and Puffer. A word of caution overfeeding can be harmful. Puffers should only be feed until their bellies are slightly rounded, overfeed = shortened lifespan. Here is a link discussing it. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=149&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&...
