Re: My experience with treating for IP- need advice

Well i ground up the medicated food and i'm soaking the bloodworms in it for a few hours before feeding. They eat the bloodworms just fine! I'm going to try this for another week and see if Fluky starts putting on some weight. If still skinny by next week i will buy the fizz tabs. thanks guys! P.S. ...

Re: My experience with treating for IP- need advice

Sounds like medicated fish food? It might work, as some of the meds may get re-absorbed into the worms. Better to use the meds directly to the worms though. So can I assume that when my fish stops looking skinny and puts on some weight it will be fine to stop? aka- that's the ultimate goal and ther...

My experience with treating for IP- need advice

So i picked up the Jungle medicated fish pellets at my LFS to treat my cutcutia for internal parasites. The darker one is putting on weight and looks really healthy so i'm not too worried about her, but the lighter colored one is awefully skinny so i'm thinking there might be some parasites in her. ...

Re: Tetraodon Cutcutia-- Newbie!

Yes, i love my cutcutia! I am going to try to put them in the 38g with a see through divider in the middle. hopefully i can get them to spawn after a few months of being next to each other.

Re: Adding more DPs.

I had 2 dwarf Puffers and added 3 small sized ghost shrimps to my tank with plenty of hiding spots and moss... My puffers made a game of killing them all. Not even eating them- just killing them. It was a HUGE mess- i had to take out all my plants and decore to clean it all up. My ammonia even spike...

Re: Tetraodon Cutcutia-- Newbie!

yes, the new 38g is a long instead of tall.. I currently have the male in a DIY breeder box that is about 3x the size of a regular breeder box. I added plants and stuff in to make him more comfortable. His tail is healing and he is finally eating. (Fluky nibbled at his tail quite a bit before i got ...

Re: Tetraodon Cutcutia-- Newbie!

yes, I am aware of this. I have it very heavily planted and they have determined their territories already. The two were tank mates in a zero planted tank for 2 weeks before i bought them and didn't kill each other. I plan to put a divider in the 38 gallon as soon as i get it set up. I'm hoping the ...

Re: Newbie!! Proud owner of two Tetraodon Cutcutias!

Thanks seven! I've definitely been reading about these jungle tabs... (i've written it down and its in my purse but i forget already).. I'm definitely going to try and treat them. I tried Mysis Shrimp this weekend- not sure if any of you have tried it before. My cutcutia hated it but my danios/guppi...

Tetraodon Cutcutia-- Newbie!

Hello everyone! I thought I would introduce myself. I am new to fishkeeping as of March 2011. I dived into this hobby full throttle! I started off with a 10gallon tank where i put a few danios and guppies in. About a month later I loved the hobby sooo much that I purchased a 37g Tall. I moved the gu...
