I just noticed my gsp has a little bit of white spots on one of his side fins (the right one). How do I figure out what this is? Not sure if its nothing to worry about or if it is ich or what!?

What age/size is the GSP? Like PP, unless severely overfed, a single immature GSP in a 75 should be an easy cycle. I also agree w/seven in that water partials should be done to protect the fish and that they will not adversely affect the cycling. When we do fishless cycling we do use higher titers ...

Okay guys where do I start? ........... I have a 75 gallon uncycled tank it has only been up and running for exactly 19 days. Keep doing water changes until those numbers are 0, they are very sensitive to ammonia and nitrite. The tank doesn't appear to be cycled. Would you be able to get some Tetra Safestart? Do you have Prime? Double the dose until the number are 0. No it is not cycled yet. It has only been up and runnin...

I have noticed the past couple of days he is sleeping a lot more than usual. And when he is up he just chills in one spot on the top of the tank. Is this normal? Okay so I just fed my gsp a raw shrimp and he literally has lumps on his tummy. One side is larger than the other is this okay or normal?? I didn't even let him finish the whole thing because of this he only ate half ( the big half )

water changes

okay so i have a 75 gallon tank with one gsp in it. The tank and water is only 2 weeks old. Anyways I check the ammonia and nirate and nitrite levels everyday and everyhting was good till today! The ammonia was between 0.25 through 0.50 ppm (this is based on the color from the master freshwater kit)...

yes my 10 gallon was not cycled it was only up and running for maybe 2-3 weeks. I am thinking about going to get Dr. Tim's one and only nitrifying bacteria. any suggestions?
