Re: Back Online--With Some Sad News
I looked up the Kanaplex... since I don't know what it is that is causing the dropsy, is it safe to use it? Is it worth the risk/is this something than can harm him if he doesn't have a bacterial infection? http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&safe=off&qscrl=1&nord=1&rlz=1T4G...

Heh, I know Hadla, I realized after I posted it I could have been a little more specific. It just doesn't make sense to me, that as a kid I had bettas in little bowls not knowing any better that survived perfectly for years, and when I actually get into the hobby and put him in a 10 gallon like he n...

Back Online--With Some Sad News
Hey all, it's been like... three months at least since I've gotten onto TPF, I think. My fiance went on his first deployment, I graduated college, I started a new job (which I hate with a passion and I am trying to get the hell out of there ASAP) and a thousand other little things all compounded int...

I have a 6 gallon nano cube (similar to BC) that I kind of want to get running... You make it very tempting!

Re: Ntural habitat for an F8
Just get some fake driftwood, that's what I have in my F8s tank, she loves it. Here's an (old) picture of her tank: http://hphotos-sjc1.fbcdn.net/262492_259507567407029_100000433636505_950307_4661361_n.jpg I've added a rock formation, added a new plant, and taken out the shells and two of the plants...

I don't think too hard about names, they just kind of happen.

Re: Question on ICH
No problem! And I definitely agree, my F8 is the most fascinating fish ice ever had.
Just so you know--ich symptoms are lethargy, flashing behavior, clamped fins, heavy breathing, and the notorious salt-like crystals on the skin.

Re: Question on ICH
My guess would be those are just his 'day' colors. My Lola is a kind of dull brown with yellow markings during the day, but when she is eating/hunting, angry (like during water changes), or the lights go out, she has much more vibrant green and intense black.

Re: Mbu
I believe when large puffers species are young, they are fed once a day, six times a week. When they become older and larger, feeding decreases to 2-3 times a week... to prevent obesity, and fatty liver disease I believe. They don't eat daily in the wild. Good luck. :) MBUs are the most attractive p...

Re: Porcupine puffer?
[welcome] I don't know much in the way of porcs... But I was looking into getting a snowflake eel, they're amazing. (unfortunately tank plans fell through.) I remember reading, however, that eels and puffers shouldn't be housed together for the fact that eels don't eat nearly as fast as puffers do, ...

uh god it makes me ill.
even someone who doesn't know the ins & outs of a GSP's needs, or even basic fish care, can see that there's something terribly wrong.
