Re: My F8 Tank

I had a similar issue with nitrates being high in my saltwater tank. TBH, I really didn't solve the problem until I started to use RODI water. Lots of water stores sell RO water cheap, and that would be easier than getting a RODI unit. But my tap water had very very high nitrate count, and now using...

Re: 2 Figure 8s in a 46 gallon bow

Thank you RTR! I guess I will get the smaller Danner Mag with 30gph, and stick with one AC. That should be sufficient with a wet dry filter, right? PP- Thank you for pointing that out to me! You'd think after having anthias I would have thought about that, but I didn't. From the sound of the set up,...

2 Figure 8s in a 46 gallon bow

Hey all, I have Luau, a figure 8 puff in a 36 gallon bow to himself, but I told Heather that I'd take Figgy since I am in California. I plan on setting up the plumbed 46 gallon bow that I got a few months ago, and putting them in there at the same time. i am hoping that it's big enough for the both ...

Re: cleaning urine from carpet

Nature's Miracle is the best for dog urine. Cat urine it's something else, but I always use Nat Miracle and not only do the stains come out, nothing shows under a black light.

Re: Thoughts on Filters

I hate having to modify stuff so it fits lol. Glad it's going well for you Me too haha. It doesn't look pretty, but it gets the job done. He's the only guy in the 36 gallon tank and it now has 3x the filtration. I thought it was 4, but it's not. That will hold him up for a while at least. =) That t...

Re: Your biggest DUHHHH moment (relating to fish)

I was emptying my 60 gallon to upgrade to my 90 gallon tank. I told myself to unplug the heater before taking it out of the tank, so I did. I then proceeded to put the LR in a bin of water while I was setting everything else up. I put a koralia in the bin, and plugged it in...or so I thought. As I w...

Re: Thoughts on Filters

Well, after a little modding on the 36b b.f. with a pair of wire snips, I finally got the 110AC on the back of the tank, plugged in and running. I think I will stick with this set up for a while. He's the only guy in the 36 gallon tank and it now has 3x the filtration. I thought it was 4, but it's n...

Thoughts on Filters

Hey guys, I am going to be putting an AC 110 on my 36 gallon bow for Luau. It's currently running a 70 and I want a bit more filtration/flow. Can I put the AC110 on it right now, and add some tetra safestart to it on Friday? (That's when it will be delivered). Or should I wait to put it on? I was th...

Re: Clownfish huddle

I was at someone's house who breeds these little guys and they were doing the same thing. He said they get like that every time he sticks his face in front of the tank...it's super cool, but a little weird haha

Nope. Neither PZ's tank or Luau's tank have plants.

+1 . And to add; you type ich cos it's quicker then explain the crypt thing lmao that tickled me. Well, yeah, I thought about that after I was doing it, but then left it anyways, just because I don't want people to think that I don't know the difference lol. Also, does it matter about nitrate readi...

Re: SW QT

Does this tank have live rock? The filter media is possibly causing this but would need a little more info to be sure. If you have live rock bin the filter contents and use it purely for flow. They tend to be nitrate factories in s/w. how's things? No LR, this is strictly a smaller tank to put new ...
