I have ran into this disease on two different occasions
Thank God for QT tanks

Never planned on putting them in with corals. 105 would only be turned into a reef tank after the puffers would have been settled in the 300g

Re: Sump Discussion Need Input

Please do NOT combine puffer species! It never ends well. :( http://www.melevsreef.com How can you definitively say that? (Playing devils advocate here) I have spoken to quite a few people that have introduced the puffers while very young allowing them to grow up together. The only issues seem to b...

Sump Discussion Need Input

So I am currently in the process of going saltwater. I have a 105g rimless tank with a custom removable egg crate top for when I am not home and while sleeping. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x84/Jeeper0309/Fish/2416AA35-A1C1-46E9-885D-CFF1D48D5EB1_zpsld09ko4f.jpg At first this tank will be a te...

Re: need some help with my MBU

Couple things
Where did you get the food at?
Anything that was raw could have carried some disease that he is fighting.
I would look into possible internal issue.

But what you can also try is the garlic route. see if he will eat the shrimp with a bit of garlic on it.

Re: Buying New Tank Need Advice

So the one thing I didn't realize was how wide the base of the stand was for the 190g
I would have to build a custom stand in my house because of the doorway angels in my current home.

I might go back to the drawing board and keep searching.

Re: Buying New Tank Need Advice

I like the used one! I buy used ones all the time and I don't have any issues other than cleaning. I think in general puffers prefer length over width as long as the width is adequate for them to turn around. The Porcupine i am going to have ordered in will be around 3" Caribbean Porcupine Puf...

Saltwater Stocking Ideas

So last night I ran across a deal on a tank that looks like the one below. Best picture I could find on the net. 4ft X 4ft X 2ft tall (Cube) https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-_Gu4s0Gu7TU/UCkA_AsjIKI/AAAAAAAAM28/QwivUM_bZ3o/s1370/DSC00830.JPG I believe its 190g possibly bigger. The overflow is cente...

Dexter wanted nothing to do with food soaked in meds had to go with much lower dosages to get him to try it.
