Re: size of GSP
So then if a GSP doesn't appear to have dulled out and slightly changed in shape it's probably not mature and probably still has time to show some decent growth?Pufferpunk wrote:My 2 looked exactly the same as every other juvie GSP you see in stores, when they were young.

Re: size of GSP
Is it just me or do the fish in the 2 pictures in this thread of large mature GSPs look different than juvenile GSPs? The colors seem duller, the spots small and high in number, and the mouths shaped differently. Is this a change that occurs when reaching maturity or just a slight difference in gene...

Re: corals
Keep in mind--ALL puffers are different. Of course. Do larger puffers attack coral? I know they're not considered reef safe, any puffer, but I assume that's mostly because they'll attack most/all inverts if they can. Would a Porcupine attack any corals for instance? I'd like to have one some day bu...

Re: Does anyone have a full grown GSP?
Wow, so you actually have 2 adults living together? Friendly by the looks of it too. Looks like an old picture, do you still have them? Any tips on keeping 2 to adulthood together? I have 2 juveniles that I've had for a little over a year now and I'm still pretty nervous that one is going to flip ou...

They tag their rocks with zip ties for the date added, I'm guessing I should be looking at month old rocks minimum?

Re: GSPs from Brackish to FOWLR
Thanks for the help guys, nice to know that a new tank can be cycled so easily with cured LR, fortunately for me the LFS pre-cures their LR in giant in door pond. Does no one have any suggestions for possible SW tank mates though? At the very least there's gotta be something to big for them to attac...

Re: GSPs from Brackish to FOWLR
If you move them to a 75, you can set it up as marine, and drip acclimate your puffers in the bucket for a few hours. It is fine for them to nibble on liverock, any corals, anemones, will likely be eaten, but that won't compromise the effectiveness of the beneficial bacteria. Depending on your tap ...

GSPs from Brackish to FOWLR
Currently I have 2 GSPs in a low brackish tank that I'm considering converting to SW, I've searched these forums and the internet at large and the desire to do so appears common but I never came upon any detailed instructions and still have questions, so I'm hoping you guys can help. First of all, h...
