Re: Picky Porky
Thanks El Scorpio. I'm sure that's probably the case. I got him to eat some Mussels (frozen) the other day, and I also had some food tied on a string for him so it looked more...well, alive. That seemed to work pretty well. I think it's going to be a combo of enticing him with live bits with a littl...

Yeah for sure. As he grows it could definitely become an even riskier prospect.

Re: Picky Porky
thanks, Chuck. I'll give the string a shot and maybe try some of the food you're feeding. I feed Punky by hand typically too. He took to that really quickly. But he's just so stubborn! I'll read the puffer library, and today I'm going to get dewormer for him.

Re: Meet Punky!
Thanks! He's a cutie alright. Though I'm sure pictures of puffers don't do them too much justice since the beauty is their personalities, hehe.

Oh dear, this could be a problem!
It seems I've met my online doppelganger who ALSO likes puffers!! Thanks for the welcome everyone! If it helps, we can invent a nickname for me, since clearly hadla was here first.

Re: Picky Porky
Cool, thanks. Then I'll start with that, and just have a little patience. I'm not in any hurry, I just was afraid maybe something could be wrong, and it's always good to know what direction to go in. He's a tough little puff, we'll get there.
Thanks!

Re: Picky Porky
Here are two articles that may help you :) Have you dewormed him yet? If not that would be a good idea and then once in good health you'll have the option of fasting him which often works to get them onto new foods. http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/feeding/feeding-your-puffers/ http://ww...

Hello :)
Hi everyone! My name is Heather and I am new here. I recently acquired my first puffer, though I am no stranger to saltwater tanks. My baby is a juvenile porcupine puffer named Punky, and he was my birthday present this year. I just love him!!
It's very nice to meet you all

Picky Porky
I have a juvenile porcupine puffer, and he seems not to want to eat anything besides brine shrimp. I know his diet must be varied and I also know that if he is consistently fed the same thing, he will only want to eat that. So i really need to break this habit! The LFS said they were feeding their p...
