Re: Don't forget about me!!
Yup, agree with the others on moving with fish tanks. It's the worse, I feel so bad every time I have to move and I can tell my puffer is as sick of it as I am.

My brown puffer puffing
Sometimes when I walk by my puffs tank he goes by one of his filters and puffs up. I finally had a camera ready and were able to snap a few pictures, I don't think there is anything stressing him into puff, and he always depuffs afterward and swims away. I don't do anything to scare or stress him in...

Re: Helping SAPs adapt
Ya sorry have to agree SAE are among the fish that lfs push that shouldn't be in the average fish tanks along with sailfin plecos, pet stores are in it for the money and not for the well-being of the animals. Giving saps species only tanks are important for them and may be one of the major factors f...

Re: Helping SAPs adapt
posting pictures would definitely be helpful I think RTR said that they are considered channel fish and so are use to a stronger stream, maybe buy a powerhead or something to increase overall flow. Also use more decor in the tank they are very skittish and would appreciate it, especially plants I fe...

Re: Would you buy a chiller for this issue?
If you got one of those large brute trash that others use to mix salt water in you could fill it a day before the wc throw in ice cubes or have a fan blowing across the top to cool it off.

You have a single Abei in a 55g?
Thats great that your puffer is settling in and starting to recognize you soon the endless begging begins.

Re: New owner of a Tetraodon Abei
I have a brown puffer he isn't the same species but part of the target family I have had him for around 11 months next week. Generally I would say have a lot of plant cover (plastic or real) as it seems to make mine more active, feed as infrequently as possible as in I will often only feed mine abou...

Re: Looks like my puff can't eat
That's a figure 8 you don't need to trim his teeth, just give him snails a few times a month no need to put him through the stress of clipping them. Also did you ever treat him for internal parasites he looks pretty skinny.

Re: Resuced - Need some advice
Instead of using Melafix I would just do extra wc's and keep the water extra clean the fin damage will heal itself quickly. Also you need to treat for internal parasites with Jungle parasite tabs what most people here use or something similar once he starts eating, Its important to take care of that...
