RIP Fiddler crab buddy. He interested her about as long as the other guy before being eaten... but she played with this one in MUCH weirder ways.

Toby and Fiddler Crab buddy

My full-grown C. Vallentini has a spotty track record about eating crustaceans. She always attacks Ghost Shrimp, but the one experience I had with harder-shelled prey ( a male Fiddler Crab ) was pretty inconclusive. She killed him all right, but it was a 7 day process, nipping off appendages and eye...

Re: drift wood....???

+ 1 RTR! It's always important to note that it's NOT like "zapping" rock with copper. The things baking and boiling do for wood in a FW or low-brackish setup have no effect on the decay rate. But it's nice to know your not bringing pathogens into your system.

From Diatoms to Hair

My 29g Marine tank finished off it's post-cycle shebang with a nice Diatom bloom, then when that died off ( whew thank gawd ) and I started to relax, I noticed hair algae on SOME of the LR. It only seems to be cultivating on certain surfaces. At on point I took a large-ish chunk out an...

Re: drift wood....???

Soft wood decays at a faster rate and releases more tannins. This will lower your ph a lot so just be sure to use something hard unless your going for acidic water

Re: GSP Swimming up and down side of the tank

Very good! When you go full marine, as your puffer matures, I advise the use of a refugium/sump, it definitley helps buffer against their slovenly eating habits. Best of luck!

I have a shuffle, and like how it works just fine... BTW, you don't NEED to buy thru iTunes to add music to one. You can aqquire your music in any way you see fit ( heh ). so long as its an Mp3. Just multi select what you want and drag it to the device icon within the iTunes interface, and......

Re: GSP Swimming up and down side of the tank

I am going start to make it SW in the next couple days i just got him a couple days ago. Your going to need to make it brackish first. Also the corys will have to be going, they don't like salt in ANY measurable amounts. Make sure to get a hydrometer ( or better, a refractometer that you know is ca...
