Re: Water temp reached 98F
The hell kind of hospital forum is this? Look at this way: You (the patient) come to me (the doctor) with a severe 3rd degree burn and all I say is, "Why did you not turn off the oven?" Great advice! The great advice being absolutely no help in the situation. I know what I did wrong - any ...

Re: Water temp reached 98F
There is, but it obviously wasn't on and I didn't check the local forecast for 100F + temperatures. Usually the tank sits at 78-82 with the windows open (as I'm on the top floor and it doesn't get that hot up here because of the lake breeze, but with all the windows closed it did.)

Re: Ceylons and GSPs
If seen this post earlier, I would have attacked you..with compliments. :D I know what you mean PB. I read posts on here that can be rude but the majority of them have good intentions. Ultimately it's your tank, your money and your choice. The only thing that people should care about is that you're ...

Re: Green spotted puffer all black?
What is the current temperature in the tank? I hope you've been gradually increasing it :D Did your IP medication arrive? My Green Spotted actually had a couple white dots on his tail when I saved him. After trying some ich medications (terrible idea), I decided to educate myself on the heat/salt tr...

Re: Green spotted puffer all black?
I personally would start a heat/marine salt treatment for ich now while waiting for the IP meds since it will take a couple days for it to arrive. That way you we can check off two possibilities in a shorter amount of time and thus giving us better chance to find out the problem before it gets worse.

Re: GSP is still sick, fighting an uphill battle here.
will it take raw shrimp? Mine used to go ga-ga for that stuff. Extremely true, I bought 3 small raw shrimp from the grocery store - took one out an tossed the others in the freezer for later. FIRST, cut a tiny slice of raw shrimp without the meds see if he eats it. If not, you'll need to somehow fo...

Re: Aquatop CF-series canister filter (aka SUNSUN)
Great to see this thread up! I just bought the AquaTop CF-400UV (photo below) before this past Christmas. Now that it's been a bit I can say so far - so awesome. I was a bit skeptical with the price being far more cheaper than other canister filters (i.e. EHEIM) but it is what was said, very good. I...
